Running Wild - The First Years of Piracy (always loved 80s/90s Running Wild, a new purchase to fill out the collection).

Medieval Steel - Medieval Steel (four song EP from the 80s recently reissued by High Rollers, deadly)

Coltre - To Watch With Hands...To Touch With Eyes (this is a wee gem of an album, definitely in my top five of this year. Nothing original but some really interesting song writing and great vocals).

Toxikull - Under The Southern Light (a Dying Victims release I don't actually like... A couple of catchy tracks but overall doesn't do anything for me.   The singer would be great in a WASP tribute band though.)

Savatage - Power of the Night (don't get many mentions on here, but a seriously good band with one hell of a back catalogue)

Woods of Ypres - Pursuit of the Sun & Allure of the Earth

Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2.

Sacral Kingdom "Perditions Gate"
Tyrannic "Mortuus Decadence" (must check out the new one, this is great)
Autopsy "Mental Funeral"

In the car for the drive this morning...

Holy Terror - Mind Wars
Holy Terror - Terror & Submission
Sabbat - History of a Time to Come

Man, you'd never want the journey to end with those three.

New Bedsore today for me, now that's my kinda arty-farty
Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Drudkh - Forgotten Legends & Autumn Aurora.
As great as Blood in our Wells is, it doesn't top these 2.
Very straightforward and no frills. Pure magic.

Ragnarok- Nattferd.
Gorgoroth- Pentagram.

MANILLA ROAD - Crystal Logic
MANILLA ROAD - Open The Gates
MANOWAR - Into Glory Ride
HEAVY LOAD - Metal Conquest
JUDAS PRIEST - Defenders Of The Faith

Qruixkor - Poison Palinopsia
Stormwitch - Walpurgis Night
Gloomy Reflections - Oath of the paladins
Kvist - For kunsten
War Dogs - Only the stars are left
Death - The sound of perseverance

Mixed bag. First time listening to TSOP in about 10 years. Really enjoyed it actually, maybe a bit nostalgic but some really cool stuff on there, I can see why it gets a bad rep if you only listen to scream bloody gore but don't know why it gets roasted so regularly.

It's a more than respectable album, and I'm someone who much prefers the first two over anything else they did.

It's shite. Shamewankery from a former great.

NP: Primus: Sailing The Seas Of Cheese

The Spirit - Songs Against Humanity

Wolverine - Communication (got this as a bargain (5 quid from Jeff Bezos), was the only album of theirs I was missing.  Always liked these guys from their first couple of albums. Actually think their debut might make my albums of the 00s if I could be bothered wrecking my brain for that. Prog metal from Sweden)

Children of Bodom - Follow The Reaper

Titan Steele - The Force (same vocalist as Ritual Steel, which is why I own this.   Pretty good but been years since I listened to it.

Grave Pleasures - Deeamcrash. I still find this to be a bit of a chore. Some great moments but some parts make me want to throw the cd out the window.

Faith No More - Album Of The Year.

Dillinger Escape Plan - Miss Machine.

Helmet - Betty.

Accept - Humanoid 7.5/10
This rocks, big, brash and balls out rocks but what else would you expect (accept?) from the German legends.

Necrot - Lifeless Birth 5/10
I know some people swear by this stuff but it's pretty average to me despite, or maybe because, of it's catchy, groove centred DM approach.

Satan - Songs In Crimson 8/10
Now we're talking, this is more gold from this bastion of British Heavy Metal, only that banjo kinda riff in 'Martyrs' blots the copybook for me.

1349 - The Wolf and The King 7/10
This one is starting to loiter ominously around the fringes of my Top 20, well, shoot me, I like straightforward, old school, verses and choruses Black Metal and this one has a lot of songs that stick in the brain.

Adorior - Bleed On My Teeth 8.5/10
I knew the name back in the day but never heard a note of their music until I bought this ...bloody hell, nothing could have prepared me for this demented, perverse, downright psychotic vocal performance atop music that reminds me of the Blood Revolt album. This made a big impression this year.

Decide - Banished By Sin 6/10
Ooh, Banished By Sin eh. Oul Glen wasn't taxing his brain much there and truth be told I had no interest in picking up a new Deicide this year until I saw Amazon practically giving it away this week and lo and behold its actually a decent effort. Glen's old hat christian bashing and monotonous bark is (annoyingly) correct and present  but the songs are strong enough for me to have had a few spins so far.

The Crown - Crown Of Thorns 8/10
Always good to have The Crown back on the battlefield and this one has really settled with me now after initial misgivings about some of the more melodious tunes. These (old) boys are still laying down the law.
Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

32 years old. That late 80s/early 90s European sound and vibe. Very different to what was coming out of the US. Its essential stuff for any type of metal head in my opinion.
