Noticed this poster in a few spots. I haven't seen Ten Past Seven in about 15 years, I reckon. They were brilliant back in the day.

Horse are one of the best live acts around currently so this should be a cracker.

@Mods - This is not my gig to promote - I don't see it posted already.

Won't be at this or anything but just want to reinforce how fucking great Horse are live.

Was at it - great stuff by all. Olivia Furey was pretty good oddball noisefuckery with some performance artistry, Horse were EXCELLENT stuff altogether, heavy and discordant yet very groovy - and Ten Past Seven? Hadn't seen them in yonks and they're still totally great, and have apparently a new album in the works!

I have to be honest and say that Olivia Furey's act did absolutely nothing for me, to the point where I wished I'd arrived 40 minutes later. The whole confrontational noise art thing has been done to death and by people with far more skill that she has. Her shtick of getting into the crowd and screaming at people (who were on a Friday night out) like she was having a mental breakdown just seemed contrived. I was glad when it was over.

It was great to see Ten Past Seven again after so long. I must have seen them 20 or 30 times back in the day. They were still pretty good. I found it difficult to pick out Rory's guitar in the mix. 15 years perspective has given then some common sense and taken a mic away from Ger. If he had one, he'd have spent 5 minutes chatting in between each songs.

Horse though... Jesus wept... such a great band who get better every time I've see them. Wayne is one of Ireland's best drummers all the way back to his Waiting Room days and Kieran can get some serious noise out of that bog standard Tele.  Since Ian and Declan came in and replaced the original lads, on vocals and bass respectively, a few years ago now - they've been going from strength to strength. The 3 lads know how to do their thing, they lock in and just let Ian loose.

Did you cop the pop-up halting site at the back of the venue? I went to get a drink and look at the merch at the end of the show and spotted a squadron Hi-Ace pilots pissed and arguing amongst themselves and decided that was our cue to leave. Passed a few more on the bottom of the stairs as we went.

Horse were fucking unreal.

RE; the pop-up halting site, there was a few lads giving staff hassle at the door as I was leaving. Didn't seem like there was going to be a positive outcome, so was also happy to scoot away!
