Hey folks. I went to Gojira with a friend of mine in the National Stadium in 2023 and we've been chasing that high ever since. His birthday is coming up so I want to take him to a show. (could be small or large, as long as it's quality) We're not massively into metal so I'm a bit out of the loop. I'm looking for something obnoxiously groovy if possible.

My metal fix:
Mick Gordon's Doom
The first track on Ghost Reveries
Imperium - Machine Head
Pantera
Gojira
Strapping Young Lad
Tool
Korn (We also have a soft spot for nu-metal, we're a product of our time)
Old Symphony X (I'm partial to a bit of cheese myself. The smellier, the better! )

Dislikes:
Anything Emo/core/crab (if those are even things anymore)

Thanks

I think I posted this to the wrong place. Apologies

Usually the summer months are pretty dead in Ireland due to touring schedules (most bands are playing festivals in Europe or US).
It starts to pick up again in September, the first interesting one for me is in September with Nekrogoblikon + Allegaeon, Party Cannon and Grief Ritual - this is on the heavier / death metal-ish end of things.
Next in Oct is Blood Incantation a very good progressive death metal band, you'll like these if you're into Gojira probably.
Otherwise, I'd recommend Primordial in Oct, doing a Saturday night show, they're always good live.

Killswitch Engage are playing the stadium too, should be ok for a bit of nostalgia since you said you liked of that era of stuff
