Was disappointed when Unyielding Love had to pull out of the Napalm Death gig so this is great news. Hundred Year Old Man are serious too. As usual, looking forward already.

Yup both of those on my list to see at it too.  I missed Memoriam when they played here before too but heard good things.  Seriously good line up.

Been looking to get back to the Siege for a while, will have to miss this one if there are no tickets - can't risk coming down from Belfast to get turned away. Will wait to Easter so.

If you make it down for doors or slightly after there is no way you'd be turned away.  I don't think I've ever heard of anyone being turned away because of capacity in all my years going, but it does get ridiculously busy in the evening.  It's normally 3pm when I arrive.

Another ridiculously fun day out in Limerick, and probably the most drunk I've been at the Siege.

Wild Heat were good craic, although the sound wasn't the best for them at times.

Shardbourne were fantastic, and a great turnout for them too.

Grey Stag and Cursed Sun were a bit of a blur for me, but by all accounts, I was told that I enjoyed them a lot.

Must have sobered up slighty for Memoriam, because I remember having a tremendous fun in the pit from beginning to end. Fair play to Dolans staff for letting us mosh again.

As as usual, thanks a lot to Bad Rep for consistently putting on the best 2 nights of the year.

Only complaint was that most of the music at the after party was shite, you'd swear they wanted us all to go home or something

T-shirts sold out super fast, were gone by about 3 or 4pm.

I was there for the whole day, for my most sober siege so far - on antibiotics so I couldn't have a tap all day.  Doesn't matter, still great craic, but you would miss the fun mess at the end of the night.

Got in for 1.30, chatting and queueing for merch, managaed to get both a hoodie and a shirt thank fuck because they didn't last long at all.  A little run throughbof everyone I managed to see:

Unmaker - just caught a little bit of them but they were good, tight modern trash.

Gather the Lost - not my cup of tea, sort of symphonic metal, but it went down well with the early crowd and for a new band they sounded like they had been playing years, fair dues.

Hircine - missed half the set because they started early but really enjoyed what I did catch.  Mix of genres, hard to pin, proggy with a couple of churning riffs holding it together.  Would like to hear them put something out online to listen to.

Trenchknife - savage as always.  Tight as a miser death metal, great fun live.  Sound in the warehouse was great for them too, and they packed the place which was great to see so early.

A-tota-so - pretty decent, post-hardcore/emo sort of stuff from what I caught.  Guest vocalists on the songs so they had the lads from WCIP and God Alone up for them, worked well, enjoyed it enough to want to give the album a spin.

Shardborne - always always class, this was particularly busting, tight and wild prog metal with plenty of variety and savage performances.  Love watching the lads because as tight as they play, they never come off as too clinical live, deadly stuff.

Grey Stag - great set, kept the energy high after Shardborne, got a great crowd in.  Obvious Mastodon/Neurosis influences but they have their own spin on that style of sludge, good hooks in the music and heft galore when they let loose.  Class.

HYOM - Unreal.  Caught the first half of the set, absolutely dense, slow, atmospheric post metal.  Gorgeous sounds, depressive stuff, practically glacial live too.  Whoever did their lights was on the ball, it was perfectly set for them.

knifedoutofexistence - harsh noise set.  Lethal.  Not everyone's cup of tea from chatting to lads after but I adored it and now I want to make a noise table lol.  Intense and vicious, well put together, suited great to the kasbah stage.  Fair fuckin funny seeing the security guard's face when he was chewing a contact mic into a world of distortion: https://twitter.com/ochoill/status/1587042983647518720?t=CWxuxEm4V63iujmqswmvaQ&s=19

Partholón - Immense, excellent, top tier post metal.  They played what seems to be all new material and it sounded excellent.  The lads are in top form, played to a tee, worked the crowd well up messing with the lights and crowd surfing without even missing a note.  They never disappoint to be fair but this was particularly savage.

Unyielding Love - oh sweet fuck.  Just total violence, excellently played.  Harsh strobes and harsh riffs, punishing noise in between the grind and death.  That section off the end of Joy of Magick, live, was one of the heaviest things I have ever seen in the warehouse, absolutely disgraceful.  A real highlight of the night, powerful performance, absolutely mad to go see them again now.

Worn Out - great energy to end the night on.  Modern hardcore done well, as much of a nod to Deftones as Converge in their set.  Great to see the warehouse that packed out for the closer too, they had it wedged.  Tight and heavy, deadly band.

Sickened I missed Damim, Senzar, and Memoriam but even sober it is tough to get to everything on time.  Memoriam I actually got in for one song but it was packed and I couldn't see a fuckin thing so I left for a breather.  Some craic chatting to everyone between bands too, great crowd and no trouble for the day by the looks of it.  I asked a friend to get me a cup of tea at one point but he got me a fuckin pot so I got to watch a few bands from the back holding on to a fucking kettle.

Roll on Easter.

That Twitter clip is class  :abbath:

I did see one lad get taken out the side door by security. Not sure what the craic was there but he did seem fairly out of it.

Amazing craic as usual, though like yourself this was probably my most sober Siege (just didn't feel like drinking a rake of pints, took it very handy). Lots of great performances. Think the highlight was probably trying not to collapse laughing at the poor security guard getting disturbed by knifedoutofexistence.

Unmaker were a nice surprise for me, very strong opener to the day, knowing nothing about them. Usually not my thing but they struck a nice balance in their styles to keep it interesting and gave the performance everything.

Agreed on Gather The Lost, I only stayed for two or three songs because it's really (REALLY) not my thing at all, but that guitarist was shit-hot, so credit where tis due.

Partholón, Hundred Year Old Man, Shardborne, Unyielding Love and Worn Out as you said, all unreal.
