Just realized this morning that it has now been 20 years since I started skating. Fucking hell.

To be honest I personally fell away from it between the ages of about 18-22 and can only really manage to skate once monthly at a push now as it has completely ruined my body, so this has definitely hindered ability, but at this stage I feel it's like metal in a sense and that I'll never be able to get away from it.

Are there any other skaters in the MW house? If so, what are ye skating/watching? Currently riding a 9" Powell deck myself on almost exclusively transition while trying to relearn anything I've lost from youth!

I only started skating when I was 25, about 7 years ago, started on a Loaded Tan Tien longboard, bombing hills. Never did anything fancy, used it mostly to get about the town.
Then I got a Carver surf/skate board with C7 trucks (Swallow Tail model) and it's a lot of fun, literally surfing on concrete and doing D-Town style slides.
I recently got a regular trick deck, it's got Slayer artwork and looks badass  8)   I've spent the last 2 months trying to land pop-shuvits and my shins are in bits from being repeatedly hit in the same place. Skating fucking hurts!! I can ollie when standing still but not while moving. As for kickflips, I can get the board to flip but can't get it to stay under my feet yet.
A mate of mine has a mini ramp in his shed and I can rock-to-fakie but that's about it.
I really wish I learned years ago.

As for videos, latest one I watch was a compliation of Grant Taylor. That dude goes fucking hard.

I used to inline skate, haven't done it in over ten years. Still have the scars and fucked up bone healing....Roces Majestic and a ball of wax to grease up the kerbs and I was awaybas a young f'la.
