Unbelievable gig id imagine!, two bands in their prime!

Quote from: Paul keohane on August 06, 2025, 10:56:16 AMIs it Trey has the rights to the name? (Morbid angel).
I know Trey is s lost cause at this stage, but if Vincent,Pete and Erik Rutan could tour under MA it would be class.

Think Vincent hinted that Trey owns the name in an interview a while back.

It'd be cool for sure, but Rutan's probably comfortable in Corpse and still has his production gigs.

Dave lost his Icon status when he left Morbid Angel... twice

TBF the last time he (and Destructhor - remember him?) was booted out and Trey didn't even have the good grace to tell him, poor Dave only finding out from a post by Trey's mom (who seems to have a lot of input behind the scenes) on Facebook.

Great show, Morbid Angel were serious and had a great sound. Chapel of Ghouls was probably my fav of the night but it was such a solid set. Loads of young fellas crowd surfing, some with double denim  8)  . The first two bands were really good too with that drum kit close to the front caving my head in.

It was a class gig all round, really enjoyed it. Didn't see all of Morbid, but they were unreal, the vocals on David Vincent are something else, and it was great to see Pete Sandoval battering away. Love the Academy, the perfect venue to see a gig like this.
