My young fella has taken a shine to The Pogues and Luke Kelly, etc.
Now he wants a banjo for Xmas.

Any recommendations on reasonbly proced banjos?

Also! What's the deal with open and closed back banjos?
Can you just take off the resonator to make a closed back banjo the same as an open back?
Is it that simple, like?
