I could never get into the sequel much, though I know it has its fans. The first one is one of my all-time faves though.

I watched both this week, definitely preferred the straight forward haunted house setup of the first one but 2 is a fun watch, goes off the deep end in an Evil Dead 2/"I kick arse for the Lord" type of way,

Oh dear, It feels like Ireland has a disproportionate amount of these doomed festivals

Deicide - S/T LP

Waited a long time for a proper copy of this, my favourite death metal album of all time. Should arrive next week hopefully. I've high hopes for this one after OUTC sounded so good. There's not many things in NZ that are cheaper than anywhere else but it seems like records work out a fair bit cheaper than Ireland. I paid 60nzd which works out to about 31 euro which id still consider on the higher end here. Spindizzy are selling it for €50 😯 I don't know if they're getting lashed with customs or just chancers but that's a pretty big difference.

Fuck I would love to catch this, I'm a huge fan of the first 4 Malmsteen albums, probably the others too just haven't delved further.

Don't know what possessed me to delete all my comments out of this thread 6 years ago but don't think I ever posted my Iron Maiden - Clairvoyant tattoo - here's a shitty healed photo, wraps quite a bit but you get the idea, a lot going on in this one

Iron Maiden - No prayer for the dying
Ulver - Nattens Madrigal
Forgotten Woods - As the wolves gather

Death - Symbolic - first time in a long time, seeing if I wanted to pick up the reissue for nostalgia purposes but it just doesn't hit for me anymore, maybe tastes have changed or maybe I wore it out too much in school, it's lost its magic.

Naglfar - Vittra - put this on as I read a comment saying it was a minor classic after never hearing a note of them. Didn't make it through, sounded like what I imagine children of Bodom would sound like if they made a 90s melodic black metal album. I can see the appeal but a no from me.

Jeez I'm hard to please today

In fairness his original mockup was a lot better than the abomination they released. I think it has potential if it has of been painted.

Quote from: Anvil on June 02, 2025, 08:45:18 AMOpeth - Morningrise (been an age since I listened to this, but what an album).
Iron Maiden - No Prayer for the Dying (first Maiden record I bought on the day of release - Title track and Holy Smoke are seriously underrated tracks. But if I never heard Bring Your Daughter again... Not sure I would care).
Christian Mistress - Children of the Earth (one of my favourite albums from this year so far.  Just good old honest catchy Heavy Metal).

The vocals on that Christening Mistress are way too weak for me to be able to get through the whole thing.

Quote from: GravyCapone on May 31, 2025, 06:06:30 AMYeah I really like all his stuff he's did for them aswell especially The Carnival Bizarre's cover

Had to look that up. Jesus, no, not for me. It's enough for me to just include here actually   :abbath:

I reckon that's a brilliant cover! It's how the logo is rendered on top is what I find offensive, too many album covers killed with digital logos hovering over a painted/drawn cover.

They sampled him?! Fucking hell. Yeah that fella loves raving about some of the most boring and generic shit I've ever heard. "The horseman of the podcasting apocalypse" 🙄 They're all insufferable.
