Quote from: Eoin McLove on December 02, 2023, 10:52:46 AMI think I had a song recorded off the metal show. MBJ opened for MH with Meshuggah. I remember fuck all at this point.

Possibly one of the old Metal Hammer cover mounted CDs? That's how I heard of them initially. Was some scutter on most of those CDs in the mid 90s

Swedish band. Marco from the Haunted was their frontman. Their debut, Mindfield was from 1995 and they got lots of annoying comparisons to Machine Head as Burn My Eyes was out around same time.

Also Blackened by Metallica is still their best album intro.

Quote from: astfgyl on November 30, 2023, 12:35:36 AMOK here's something that might have been missed

You can't get a new drummer that can actually play and then expect the cunt to play like Tuds

Edit: the drums do sound odd in the mix but the playing can't be Tuds

I remember someone on the old forum commenting that Tuds Archers phone even rang out of time... he was undoubtedly the weak link back in the day. Despite loving Shades Of God, he's woeful on it.

Utterly pointless. The version of Widow was OK but these last 2 are just not as good by a long way.

Bizarre carry on. I was in Bolton Street when he was back in the late 90s when he was also in Mael Mordha and he seemed a very down to earth fella. Seems to fall from one bit of trouble to the next now. What a shame.

Quote from: Eoin McLove on November 26, 2023, 08:10:01 PMRIP. I find myself listening to a lot of KJ in recent years. Time to make a few purchases.

Absolute Dissent, MMXII and Pylon are all amazing albums if you haven't heard them yet.

What a balls. I've only gotten to appreciate him fully in recent years. The last 3 albums have been highlights of their entire discography. Geordies riffs are such a huge part of the sound. Nobody sounds close to his style.

Gonna blast The Great Cull and Glitch

Quote from: Eoin McLove on November 26, 2023, 08:57:35 AMThey moved away from their hardcore sound towards a more rock orientated one. Some good songs. I loved Soul Searching Sun when it came out but I haven't listened to it in decades. I don't even seem to have the CD here anymore. Must have grown legs over the years but I'm not sure it's one I really need to replace. I thought Caputo's first solo album was a brilliant pop rock record. Some very odd lyrics here and there but a really beautiful album in places.

Yeah his solo album had some great songs on there. The odd lyrics do seem to point to his future "changes"

Fuck it anyway with the mice talk. Had to go to the attic to get the decorations down for the kids and found mouse shite everywhere. Traps all set, including the electric one. Decided to screw the others down to rafters so they don't go missing like was mentioned by others.

While on the drummer topic and despite what members of LOA and Type O Negative would say, Sal Abruscato brought a unique groove to both bands. Neither band managed to capture anything close once he was gone. This has been proven twice with LOA.
