Metal Discussion / Immolation Book - Decibel
January 09, 2025, 07:11:22 AM
Was looking to pick this up, 35 from the website but it's another 35 to ship it to Ireland. Vaguely recall someone here sourcing something similar from Europe somewhere - any ideas?

Nice announcement, Abaddon and Cancer a perfect pairing.

Musicians forum / Laptop Recommendations
October 13, 2024, 11:36:49 AM
My trusty Mac Book Air bit the dust and I'm not in a position to replace like for like. Lost without a home recording option.

Anyone recommend a mid range laptop that could run a program like Presonus Artist or similar comfortably?

Dreadful band, had the misfortune of seeing them support Meshuggah the other year. I'm sure one or two will have interest.

They were shite at the Emperor gig but do like the albums. Really suffered from poor sound at Emperor so nice to see them back playing smaller venues. Prob hit the Dolan's show.

Great poster it has to be said, bit mad though having this in the academy? Would Aborted have that much pull?

Metal Discussion / Jerry Cantrell - I want Blood

New song out there Vilified

Dreadful stuff all together. The last two Alice in Chains records have been awful too, this sounds like more of the same with a few more complex drum fills.

Never thought I'd be tired of the voice or sound but he's done it. All the material is delivered in the same key and tempo.

LOL, mightn't be much love for these lads but there's been a couple of vinyl reissues recently that have maybe slipped under the radar.

They've always got my curiosity - I'd nearly label it outsider art rather than grind. It's almost hard to believe they were committed to the joke for so long. Putnam certainly annoyed as many people as possible. Anyone ever see the Slave to The Grind doc? So many labelled him a piece of shit - and you can't say he didn't come across that way. There was definitely talent in there somewhere if it could've been refined more. His vocals on Pantera's Great Southern Trendkill remain my favourite thing he's ever done.

I Like It When You Die was released this year on four different vinyl variants. Probably the one I spin most. How can you argue with songs like "You Keep a Diary" or "You Live on a Houseboat"

This one is for the afficionados - Box Set of Early Releases, Splits, Live Performances

F.O.A.D. Records celebrates its 200th release with the most extreme boxset in music history! The ultimate, most exhaustive collection of AxCx recordings from the band's early years: all their singles, split 7″s, comp. tracks, demos, the ultra-rare first tape 1988, rehearsals, unplugged, live... and the impossible to find "A head-shot for your thoughts"  promo ltd. to 6 copies. More than half of the stuff included has never been released on vinyl to date or has been out of print for a long time. "When the band started the goal was to be the fastest, noisiest, shittiest band around and to have absolutely no trace of musicality at all.." (Seth Putnam). "We did it before you and we did it better" (Tim Morse).  6 x LP's housed in a deluxe box with AxCx logo printed in spot UV, 72 page book filled with never seen before photos, scans of the original releases, liner notes by Seth's mom, band members & friends, memorabilia from Seth's personal archives and a lot more! A monsterwork carefully assembled over the years, mastered from selected, best sounding sources. Without getting in lost in descriptions and labels, AxCx were the world's fastest and noisiest band and their status of genius and nihilism will never be beaten!

God awful band. Documentary was great but there's a reason they were playing to one bloke in an armchair in the Czech Republic, some may inexplicably have a soft spot for them.

Voodoo Belfast 20th Dec

Surprising announcement for many reasons. Has any Eyehategod gig here done any business? Also, completely shit time of year for it.
