Metal Discussion / Re: Mortician Appreciation

Fluids - Exploitative Practices is definitely an album that feels insanely influenced by and more or less parallel universing Mortician for the most part

Torr - Armageddon for Czech Frost influenced thrash. I enjoy this, never heard it back then, I came across it a few years ago on this blog. http://opiumhum.blogspot.com/2019/12/torr-armageddon-1990.html

That's one of the good ones. I have an unexplainable soft spot for The Waste Lands with Tony Dolan. Always go back to it for a listen. It's not even a guilty pleasure from my youth. I downloaded it from a blog around 15 years ago.

General Discussion / Re: Decent adblockers for Youtube

Is anyone using the Brave browser.
I'm using that and haven't had any ad action on Youtube.
I have no other adblocking extensions loaded.

The EU relapse store was great while it was running.
I think they were partnering with the Hammerheart records distro at the time judging by some of the flyers that fell out of the packaging of stuff I bought..
You can gat a bunch of Relapse titles here from this Irish based distro.
Not the Yob one you were after though.

I had a phone before which had massive builds up of lint in the charge port over time.
A lad at work suggested to put phone in pocket with charging port facing up.
Lint problem reduced dramatically after that.

Quote from: StoutAndAle on October 17, 2023, 10:09:06 AMLast bus out of Limerick to Cork is at 1930hrs or something. A pure balls.
You'd think we were a modern functioning country there Stout with your ludicrous expectations of a transport service that may be vaguely fit for purpose

Quote from: Cailleach on October 08, 2023, 07:16:28 PMI hope it won't be like 2015 with regard to injuries being their undoing again in a quarter final. In fairness thought they do have better strength in depth this time around.
Was it France in the last pool game in 2015 that wiped 3 or 4 first team players out of the quarter the following week?
Where we were well beaten by Argentina?

Quote from: Squigs on August 18, 2023, 01:54:42 PMI think there was a gig on in The Lower Deck after everyone bailed up to, Baachus or something like that.

I'll be the same as Jamie, week of decision

I think The Wounded Kings played the Lower Deck the same night. I was at EHG in the Academy and I'm fairly sure it was The Wounded Kings I went up to the Lower Deck for afterwards

I started using ReVanced recently on the phone. A reset killed my Vanced apps. https://www.reddit.com/r/revancedapp/comments/xlcny9/revanced_manager_guide_for_dummies/ That guide was about the easiest one I saw.

For the computer I started using Brave browser. It's based off of Chromium which as far as I know almost all of them are now. But it's got great adblocking built in so you don't need to go chasing extensions to do that for you. An old MacMini connected to the TV does great for the ad free you tube.

Quote from: Black Shepherd Carnage on January 17, 2023, 12:17:59 AMWatched the Dio one tonight. Deadly. Loads of great things about it, but one that was particularly appreciated was that it was Dan Lilker in there representing metal's extreme side.
I watched about an hour of that on Youtube a couple of weeks ago and it seems to have disappeared from there now. Where did you watch if from?

My sister is a big fan of Volbeat and I remember a Whatsapp message a couple of years back saying that Barney Greenway had turned up to do backing vocals on a track at a gig Volbeat did in the Olympia. The 3 Arena seems several bridges too far for them in Ireland

I'd listen to Clouds any day of the week.
An absolute favourite of mine from the 90's.
I think I got that and Sarcofago - The Laws of Scourge on the same day.
Both albums I still listen to regularly.
