Youtube updated, meaning ReVanced was essentially useless for me yesterday. The guide to installing/updating it has been deleted (I couldn't remember the steps/links) so here's another one if needed:

Watched the new Bert Kreischer and Bill Burr specials this evening. Neither's great but I didn't expect the Kreischer one to be the better of the two.

Ah that was just a random one off the top of my head, and it was a new release CD too. Vinyl might be a different story, storage concerns etc.

Just did a comparison on the new Bob Mould - €16 on the Irish one, €16:11 on the UK one, with delivery a day earlier from the latter. Of course.

I only saw them once, the double headliner with In The Woods in Charlie's about 30 years ago. They were fantastic on the night but I don't think Renkse even played, he was too pissed to go on or something to that effect. Did he sleep under the stage?

I was less than sober on the night myself so the details escape me but I remember them being mighty.

I haven't listened to them for years but that Cure sounding period was alright. Totally different prospect to the band as they were in their heyday, obviously.

From their Facebook:

Quote"Anders Nyström and I are going our separate ways. A decision not taken lightly, but for everyone to thrive and move forward with their own creative preferences as well as personal schedules this has become the realistic option. Anders and I started the band in 1991 and his impact on the band's trademark sound is undeniable. As bleak as this sounds, and is, it's further evidence of life getting in the way of our preferred plans. I wish Anders all the best for the future."

Jonas Renkse

I wonder what that will mean for their sound going forward, will they become even more mainstream? I always got the impression that Renske was the one pushing them in that direction.

Borderlands. Based on a computer game apparently, comes across as a knock off of Guardians Of The Galaxy. Not very good, even Cate Blanchett couldn't save it.

Well this is shit. Gonna be a long, depressing day for Irish rugby.

Jesus. But did you pull a recently separated, mid-'40s, fairly tipsy as it's her 'first night away from the kids in furreverr and she just needed to be seen, y'know?' woman? 🤔

11 o'clock closing is brilliant, time to get back to the local for a few comfotable ones after.

The Conversation (plus The French Connection and a documentary about the latter) are being shown on BBC Four next week, if anyone wants to catch it. Hackman's best performance? I reckon so.

Hadn't heard of these before, tech DM from Quebec. A bit more widdly than I'm generally a fan of but it's enjoyable nonetheless:

I was all in favour of getting mine lasered until a friend of mine did it and it went wrong*. His was one out of a good few people I know that have had it done but it scared me off regardless. My sight's so bad that it might not be feasible anyway.

*Infection in both eyes and the treatment involved going back under the knife to scrape/clean the area under the cornea. Multiple times. In the meantime he had to put up with constant and serious pain in his eyes. The company he went to were pretty shoddy as it turned out, and a lot of people were similarly affected. Long story short it went to a class action suit and I believe he got a decent payout in the end. His eyes are fine now, he got proper treatment for it.
