Will be watching the last episode tonight, after binging it in the last few days. It's quality.

June 12, 2025, 02:28:23 PMQuote from: Carnage on June 12, 2025, 12:10:57 PMEbbhead was where I got on board. Took a long time to come around to it but it's a personal favourite now, the recent remaster is great on headphones. Belief is another great one, as is the... As Is EP.
If you're into early Depeche Mode you'd find a lot to like in NE, they were on the same label, Flood worked with both, etc.
Nitzer Ebb are similar to Depeche Mode, but they're more butch.
That Total Age is a great album.

5 episodes in to Dept Q. Brilliant show. It's being unfairly compared to Slow Horses, but I'm enjoying Dept Q more.

Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Cinderella - Long Cold Winter
Skid Row - Slave to the Grind
That Cinderella album is class. It sounds like AC/DC with keyboards.

The second one is great. It's the perfect movie to watch with a few strong tins of beer.
I've no interest in watching every Wrong Turn film but the first 2 are very good. Eliza Duskhu is in the first one so that's an automatic 4 stars.

What an album. Absolutely brilliant
Had Memento Mori on a couple of times yesterday and I think it's their best since Songs of Faith and Devotion. It's really great
Black Celebration is a fantastic album. I'll be throwing on Music for the Masses after this.
I haven't listened to DM properly in years. Playing the Angel is the last one of theirs I've heard. Must check out Memento Mori.

Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings. Highly recommended if you're looking for a film in which mutated hillbillies, who look like a deranged grunge band, chase a group of annoying students around an abandoned asylum during a blizzard.

June 09, 2025, 11:43:58 AMQuote from: Black Shepherd Carnage on June 07, 2025, 10:09:25 PMDephosphorous are dropping a new album soon, and a new single next Tuesday. Reminding myself of this by posting here, in one of only two threads they appear to have been mentioned in, as the notion of "presaving" something on Spotify is beyond my will.
I was going through my vinyl a while ago, and found their split with Wake from 2012 which I don't remember buying. I'll probably buy the new one, promptly forget I bought it, and write a post about it on this forum in 2038.

More Chuck worship from Matt Harvey & co🤘
Mad how there's such a divide in opinion about this band. I think they're nifty, and I'm enjoying this release a whole lot (seeing as it's aping "Human", my all time favourite album).
You could debate this sounds more like vintage Death than "The Sound of Perseverance" does.
I also wonder what the reception would be like if Death didn't exist? As if these songs existed in their own vacuum without the obvious influence.
I've often wondered what the reception for Krokus would have been like if AC/DC didn't exist...Metal Rendez-vous would have sold as many copies as Back in Black. They could have played Croke Park. It makes you think.

Scald - Will of the Gods is Great Power
While Heaven Wept - Of Empires Forlorn
Two magnificent slabs of epic doom. Even the train announcements couldn't ruin the doom magic on the commute this morning.
I've been listening to Will for years, and I'm still in awe of what Scald achieved. Absolute perfection.

Bongripper - Satan Worshipping Doom
Instrumental stoner doom that's weirdly uplifting, especially the black metal riff on Satan.

Started watching Dope Thief on the dodgy box. Only an episode in, but it's very good. 2 lads in Philadelphia pose as DEA agents to rip off drug dealers, and end up messing with the wrong boyos.
