Quote from: Circlepit on December 08, 2024, 08:06:03 PMThe bit from Ron Smallwood seemed very business like, almost like thanking someone for working in a company for all those years.
Sure I've no idea what it's like behind the scenes but he seems like a cunt.
What am I basing it on? Nothing.
Out of all of them Nicko and Dave seem the ones who could be the most down to earth .

He's definitely a complete wanker,  just even by the stuff I read about Derek Riggs ending his relationship with them.

Quote from: Eoin McLove on December 05, 2024, 09:54:51 PMTyr by Black Sabbath is an immaculate album. My word. I'm still completely hooked.

Just put on 'the law maker' after reading this, holy fuck, just about blew my tits of in work, what a fucking ripper track. I've infamously never listened to a black sabbath album, and probably know 4 songs, I can't believe this is what I've been missing out on, not at all what I'd made up in my mind was a black sabbath sound 🤯

Yeah the metal archives thing I meant in a more general sense, wouldn't be hard to find something controversial about impaled naz even without it

I seen the other day that people are still trying to 'cancel' Dragonforce because the guitarists played in some shitty black metal band 30 years ago and had some questionable lyrics. The unwillingness to accept that people do dumb shit when they're younger that they grow out of is crazy. At this point I'm surprised people haven't picketed Abaddon  Incarnate gigs

Eindhoven metal meeting were forced by the venue to remove Impaled Nazarene from the lineup even though they have played there previously. The madness continues.

As good of a resource it is, I can't help but feel like Metal Archives has made it too easy for people to dissect every single thing a band has ever done, a bands demo that was released on a 'sketchy' label 20 years ago, the spiderweb of who they share members with, scour lyrical content..etc just to hunt for things they deem cancellable.

Quote from: Mithrandir on December 03, 2024, 05:56:43 AMSomehow managed to do this on the new turntable 😫 Don't know if I had the tracking force too hight or if I actually dropped it on a record without realizing at some point. Not an expensive one to replace but a pain in the hole all the same. Just hope I haven't fucked the records I tried play on it now  :-X

I think it's your anti-skate, as well as your tracking weight
If you drop the needle in between grooves does the arm pivot in or out?
It should be out
Going by your photo, it's going in more than it naturally does anyway

Out of interest, does it still sound ok?
Is the sound evenly balanced between both speakers?

If it is, leave it!
Well, reset the anti-skate anyway

I may be way off, but I'd play around with it before replacing

Ah it's fucked now, won't play anything but noise/distortion. I've set it up to manufacture recommendations but just to be sure I've ordered a little digital stylus tracking force guage. Anti skate set to 2 as per setup info, but think I'm just a clumsy and easily distracted so probably just user error.

Got my first greys this week, really faced me with my own mortality

Quote from: open face surgery on December 02, 2024, 10:10:34 AMCuntish enough. Lowest voter turnout in 100 years. If you didn't vote, you're not in a position to criticise.

That's mental, especially with the state of the place.

Quote from: Pentagrimes on December 02, 2024, 02:42:10 PMI guess we're getting a new Teitanblood any minute now (my guess is Xmas day) so let's see how that changes the lists

Yeah just seen that! Been getting back into Death a lot this year so excited for a new one. Was hoping the century album would be out this side of Christmas too but looks like it's been pushed into 2025

Manowar just announced the first date of what's apparently a 2025 tour playing Hail to England in full + the hits (Brixton academy July 2025)I can't forgive them after the shit they pulled at Hellfest a few years ago but would be lying if I said I wouldn't be first in line if they played near me. Hopefully it's a big enough tour and they hit Aus at some point.

Whoa, wasn't expecting the warning announcement! And new music  :o  How do you follow WFAD though..

But yeah terrible lineup apart from that, if I wasn't so far away I would have travelled just for Warning.

I've never given anything after Worship Him much time, must give them a blast in work this week.

It's the same here, mate or old mate,  but I can't fluidly say mate in a sentence, it just sound's really awkward.

The worst part of the Irish/Down under language barrier, I have an 'R' in my surname and have had to change how I pronounce it from "Ore" to "Arrrr" like a pirate or else no one has a clue what I'm saying, feels so unnatural and silly every time.

I haven't listened to enough stuff that stuck with me this year to make a list but the Gloomy Reflections album has been on pretty heavy rotation for me the last few weeks.
