Great gig

I'd love to hear this sound given the full treatment on vinyl
Made for it

Spoilt for bands last night
Cheers for coming in for a look, good to chat to you briefly!

Class sport for the two nights, Limerick and Cork both deadly, class to get to see the other three bands for two nights straight they are deadly.  Molarbear and Partholón I have seen tons and they are always great, The Grey are top notch live too, had been listening to their last album lately and the songs off it come off great live.

Kasbah in Limerick was lethal, talking to everyone afterwards and the other bands went down great, everyone impressed.  First time ever being in or playing in the Dali in Cork, great venue, haven't played on the floor like that in years and I love it.  Sound great both nights, crowd great both nights.  I have post gig depression now lol

Caught them in the Opium a few years back and in Limerick as well.  Had the pleasure of driving the lads from the train station to the gig that day   savage band, shame they are done live but given the surgery and everything it is understandable.  At least the music itself from all the projects is still going.

Would also see Jesu live again in a heartbeat, saw them with Isis in the temple bar years ago and they were lethal.

Air - "10,000 Hertz Legend"
An all time top 10/20 whatever album for me anyway.  Immaculate album.  Can't fault it in any way, master song writing and craft.

Aphex Twin - "Druqks"
Nothing to be said really.  Magnificent.  An album I have lived with and loved since it released.  Probably why I find it hard to find anything to describe it with but I would assume everyone here has came across it in one way or another over the years.  Another untouchable album.

The litmus test for any Rob Zombie album is: does anything on there equal or better Astro Creep OR Hellbilly Deluxe?

The answer is always no.  Forget about it.  Don't cod yourselves.  I won't listen to it to find out, no.

I did immediately put on a few choice cuts off both those albums though while thinking about it.

Weedpecker - "V"
Whole album is out since yesterday but I have the first two tracks listened to to death while they were streaming early.  Latter half of the album also totally savage.  Meticulous psych/stoner rock.  As good as it is on a first listen, it opens up more and more each time.  Have listened to almost nothing else in the last two days.  Have it on again while I am posting this  lethal stuff.

Looking forward to this now.  I know Partholón and Molarbear well anyway but also excited to see The Grey live, been listening to them the last few months and it's right up my alley.

I'm opening the Limerick and Cork dates if anyone fancies pointing and shouting at me.

Quote from: Eoin McLove on February 26, 2026, 10:57:50 AMEdit. I was thinking of Orbital. I've never read Solaris, but I'm not a sci fi nerd.
I don't read a ton of Sci Fi myself but enjoyed this a lot.  I would read anything really it wouldn't bother me but just never know where to start with Sci Fi outside of grabbing classics and going from there.  I saw Orbital in Easons the other day and went to pick it up based on this thread here but put it back to force myself to read what I already have on the shelf at home first

Few in particular over the last few days:

Decapitated - "Organic Hallucinosis" and "The Negation".  These two and the album before it are all I need from them.  They are great though.  Hadn't listened to them in an age and forgot how good they were.

Malevich - "Under a Gilded Sun".  Post metal, a bit of black metal, mix of stuff in there.  Had this on a few times and it gets better every listen.  Plenty going on in it but it never sounds overdone, if that makes sense.

Nadja - "Radiance of Shadows".  Always great.  Just bleak and loud and lush and full.  Pure weight.  I love it

From my last post: finished Solaris, great book, lovely sci fi.  The general story on the ship over the planet is good but the history / geographic / biological descriptions of the planet itself hold it together.  Just reads great.

Ripped through Slaughterhouse Five after that, had never read it before, totally class.  Didn't know what to expect going into it but loved the way it is put together.  Definitely one I would read again.

Started Neuromancer the other day, had it on the shelf a while.  Already enjoying it, the writing is lush and - maybe because of how used to seeing the aesthetic we would be nowadays - the imagery vivid.

(Tore through more Chainsaw Man and Delicious in Dungeon in the middle of those too).

Love that album too. Have talked about it a ton on here before but yeah reiterating that the production is a big part of what makes it for me and it suits the music perfectly.  Never knew he regretted it.

Gave this a spin on the train and it sounds good. All We Love We Leave Behind and The Dusk in Us were too sterile for my ears. This sounds rawer, more like You Fail Me.
I was looking for it on Bandcamp this morning but it still isn't up in full.  YFM is my favourite Converge album so looking forward to giving it a spin later now.

Edit. Lovely little turn to darkness there for the end bit.

Thanks boss.

I wish I could remember how I did that last track

Have had this on a few times myself, it is deadly.

Was listening to a bit of that this morning just to see what it was, it has cropped up all over the place.  I love it and will watch the whole thing later
