This is going to be a good one to beat the January blues:

"Dublin! Swedish Black Metal legends Unpure  play in Dublin as an exclusive, one off Irish show on Saturday January 25th at Death From Below!!! We are honoured to have these guys here!!!"

UNPURE live set + TRANSILVANIA's Cachtice DJing before and after.

Great craic at this last night. Incessant ripped it, the sound was perfect and they really showed how much potential they have in store.

Glad to see a decent turn out and everyone in good spirits. Looking forward to the next one in January.

Great news!!!

I didn't get into the split album as much. The demos are the real deal but this new material also sounds as cool as.

Missed this thread until now, great band!! I've always liked Gorgoroth but only keep going back to Pentagram and Antichrist. There's some sort of edge to them that lack on all other albums.

We opened their gig in Curitiba/Brazil in 2004, before Gaahl became more popular than the band itself. At the time I thought they were weird alright, but thinking back they were probably just being too Norwegian and keeping it to themselves.

Probably the one time Bon Jovi was a better call than Van Halen.

First Spell is one of the greatest BM EPs of all time. I am not mad about anything after Second Spell though, I should probably revisit these albums...

The second edition of DEATH FROM BELOW involved an interview with Ciaran and Hick from COSCRADH. Interesting insight into the band's concept.

SO THE NEXT ONE IS UP:

"Irish Black/Death Metal titans COSCRADH will perform a set of entirely new material from their forthcoming TBA album!!! A unique insight into a band's creative process.

Quote from: Eoin McLove on July 27, 2024, 11:03:57 AMHow did he die? He can't have been that old.

I haven't seen the cause of death anywhere, but he would have been in his late 50s or even early 60s at this stage? Despite "Ritual" was released only in '91, MH had been around since the early 80s.

We played with them in London at LIVE EVIL a few years ago. They were quite good live, at least for an early set, as far as I remember.

The band name sounds Punkish alright, but I still think it's cool. I find their logo and general aesthetics to be also misleading, I am pretty sure they come from a punk scene rather than a metal one. They're anything but young and obnoxious though...

Tomas "Monster" Vendl of MASTER'S HAMMER passed away yesterday. He recorded the bass for all demos + "Ritual" and "Jilemniky Okultista" in the early 90s. Peak Black Metal albums...

Deathhammer unashamedly ripped off that "Barracuda" riff on their last album.
