Yeah, the Lightspeed is class. Don't think it's quite as transparent as the Timmy....same ballpark though. Its often described as your amp...but more. I use mine as a Base tone....not quite clean, edge of break up...and then stack other flavours.

Seen the Battlehammer mentioned above. Another great drive ! Best Rat variant I've tried.

OCD is brilliant alright. One of my sale regrets. I really like the Greer Lightspeed and the Keeley Super Phat Mod. The Phat Mod is essentially a blues driver with the Keeley Mod. I also recently got a ZVEX Double Rock, which is amazing.

Quote from: Ducky on November 15, 2024, 11:35:25 PMDid you get on their other albums since? I've been giving them (and the few Caravan I have) a proper hammering this last week. Also - Soft Machine.

Snowgoose seems to be the best regarded, and it works great as a concept album, but it's my least favourite of the first four (still a 9.5/10, mind).

Can't help with the Opeth/Katatonia  Don't revisit either band too much these days to be fair. Though I still get goosebumps when I hear that transition towards the end of Moonlapse Vertigo.

I ended up buying Mirage, Moonmadness and Rain Dances. Moonmadness is great, I'd rank it alongside Mirage in terms of quality. I was less impressed with Rain Dances. It's a bit wanky in places, but it's still a good album. I was listening to those albums and some Gong one weekend, and the missus asked if I was back on the drugs again.

Soft Machine are great alright, but I really have to be in the right mood for them, whereas I can throw Caravan on any time. Those first three albums are sublime. I really need to check out their releases after In the Land of Grey and Pink.

Moonmadness is my fav Camel album. Brilliant. Get Snowgoose too. Make sure its the original and not the re-record though.

Is Atmos 7.1? I have a soundbar that'll handle 5.1 alright...
Not sure mate. I listened to it through my Sonos soundbar.

Me and the missus are huge Cure fans. Love the new new album. I see some people seem to dislike Warsong and Drone : NoDrone. I love the whole thing. If I have one criticism, its that I wish it was a little less compressed. Really enjoyed the live stream and bbc 2 stuff. Hopefully get some gigs next year.

Blasting through the horrors the last few days. Hellraiser, You're Next, It Follows
...and tonight Late Night With The Devil.
Thought it was really good. Pulled off the 70s talk show vibe surprisingly well.

Deathspell Omega - Chaining The Katechon

Has there ever been a band as genuinely unsettling ?

Probably a bit different than most you. I have Victory V40 Deluxe combo. It's not a high gain thing. I like a lot of Americana, Alt.Country and classic rock as well as all the metal stuff. So amp is more geared towards that end of things. I tend to run it relatively clean and get my dirt from pedals. It's a glorious sounding thing. 42 watts, or 7 in low power mode. Single channel 1x12 combo.

No problems using the site lately?
I haven't been able to get into my Listenable account lately, keeps saying wrong password then when you hit the option for change password it doesn't send anything to your email.

No. Although...apparantly they were on holiday for a while. Maybe that effected it ? That's why my stuff took a while. Arrived in a week once dispatched though.
