Messages - son of the Morrigan

Was on about it here before somewhere, SOAD lifted a lot off Primus for sure.

I must give Mr. Bungle another go, listened to some of their stuff over the years but never thought much of it.

Up there with "spit on me Dicky".
I'd be the same, first four are class.

Hey man, what's this I hear about no more Whiplash? Say it ain't so.

One of the boys I went to school with had a wee stint in hospital where he almost died of meningitis. I had taped "Death to The Pixies" off him, so I decided that if the hairy bastard died "Monkey Gone To Heaven" would be his theme tune. Luckily he made a full recovery and we had daytime pints last week.

Yeah Whiplash seems to have crashed out. I've nothing to do with the boyos running the show, but from what I can observe it's a double whammy of rising costs for them to stage it (such is fuckin' everything in 2025), and a lack of any proper venue in town.

Now the Garavogue appear to be hosting Cruachan during the summer (if Keith uses the forum I was the fella wearing the Revocation t-shirt that had a pint with ye in Furey's last Friday!), so hopefully that does well and the Garavogue cops onto the fact they can make a few quid from entertainment that isn't lowest common denominator muck like what they usually have on seven nights a week.

There's another spot - Coolera House - that's perfect for gigs but it's a 15 minute drive outside of town. One of my mates put on Waylander and Primal Dawn out there in 2002 or so, but neglected to promote it, quite literally. Think there were more band members than punters, FFS

Yeah, I was talking to a few of the lads last year and they were saying it was becoming a real pain in the hole.
Its an awful pity.
Fair play to the lads though for their efforts over the years, these things don't just happen like and they probs didn't get the recognition and the  thanks they deserved, as is the way with these things.
Be great if some of the younger heads took up the mantel.

I know Coolera House, its a grand spot, "forgot to promote it" Jesus  .

Good to hear your friend is in good health, that fucking meningitis is no joke.

Listening to The Pixies a nice bit lately after not listening to them for years.
Mighty stuff.

Death Rituals is deadly.
Seed Of Filth is on it, which is one of the best death metal songs of all time in my opinion.

The Eir on hold music, spent near 40 mins. listening to it this morning. Shite tune.
The lyrics are shite too, "estimated wait time is less then 6 minutes".
Very disappointing, would not recommend.
0-10.

It's a banger! Its on Reinventing Hell, the best of Pantera.
Don't know now if I'd go as far as saying its their best though, I've a fierce soft spot for Cemetery Gates myself.

Reminds me of a time years ago I was on a road job with a lad, he was on the digger and I was on a dumper.
I came back after dumping a load and he runs up to me with a wild look in his eyes, "Have you the emergency number for the ESB" he shouts.
"Oh fuck", says I, "what happened?"
"There's a blackout!" says he, pointing to an African fella across the road.

I like a good cover band, if I had the choice now between seeing, say, Metallica from half a mile away, playing whatever their latest dross is, surrounded by 50.000 gobshites or a Metallica cover band close up, playing all the classics, surrounded by 300 actual metal fans I'd choose the cover band all day.

They instantly sold out the minute even one of them got the sniff of Europe. I would write them off, personally.

Pity, but they are only a pretence of an alternative

I agree with ya man, they are a pretence of an alternative, but I wouldn't write them off when it comes to winning seats.

Hey lad, if ya want to make it even more glorious, next time get yourself a loafeen of buttermilk fruit soda bread made by Butlers in Menlough, lash on the Kerrygold and have it with that coffee.
It's savage.

If ye want a bunch of highly educated individuals expressing alternative scientific opinions on the CO2 issue I suggest ye Google CO2coalition.org.
Ye'll find the CO2 facts section most interesting.
