What's the craic with this? I assume it'll be cancelled or postposed?

Just started The Butchering Art by Lindsey Fitzharris, about Joseph Lister and the transition from surgeries with no anesthetic being carried out in hospital theatres which were never cleaned, to the discovery of ether and Lister's discovery of the importance of sanitation and sterility. Off to a promising start talking about the madness that was going on in the years leading up to Lister. Amputations carried out in 30 seconds, eyewatering descriptions of rods up the  flute to remove kidney stones, and a brief mention of the horror of an eye extraction on a fully awake and aware patient.

Yeah,  I find it bizarre that Batman and The Joker are now considered to be challenging, serious roles. That said,  I'm very much looking forward to Paddy Considine's reboot of Kindergarten Cop.

Did the Jesus Lizard stuff ever get remastered? I've got most of their stuff but the sound quality is shocking. Pretty much impossible to listen to on a portable device

Easily in my top 10 albums of all time. I listen to a ton of different musical genres but nothing has ever got to the core of what I enjoy most about music apart from this band. I'm constantly trying to find other bands that come close to what The Jesus Lizard do and how their music makes me feel but nothing ever scratches that same itch.

Can't beat LFC Daytrippers for Liverpool podcasts. Done by a load of Dublin ones and a scouser and a Welsh bloke make the odd appearance. Much prefer this to Anfield Wrap because you get the same insight only with far less self-importance and far more laughs.

Pure Cinema Podcast is amazing too if you're into cult/genre cinema. They do themed episodes like "90s cult movies," "Westerns (With Joe Dante)," a Larry Cohen tribute, and retrospectives of entire careers for Carpenter, Scorcese and Tarantino. The great thing about the podcast is they always pair the films they're talking about with other films, so King of Comedy for example, one of them paired it with Tony Manero, another film about psychotic fans, while the other guy paired it with another Jerry Lewis film.

Started playing a load of the LucasArts point and click adventures again, don't suppose there's any developers still putting out games in that format?

Thimbleweed Park came out last year or the year before I think. Rod Gilbert made it.
