Gigs and Festivals / Alcatraz Open Air 2027
August 26, 2026, 03:35:53 PM
Just bought tickets and glamping for this.
The line up so far is already ticking a lot of boxes, and judging by recent years, there should be a lot of bands I'll like.
https://www.alcatraz.be/en/

If anyone has been before, would you mind sharing any tips or info you have?

I suppose general info like:
Price of beer.
Food info.
Whether to buy the breakfast package they have.
I think I'll hire a car from Brussels airport, is there any special parking for the glamping or we have to get the shuttle bus too.

There's an old thread here, happy to continue in that one if the OP updates the title...

Quote from: Pagan Saviour on August 05, 2026, 11:19:07 PMGood mix of young and old at this which was heartening. Plenty of youngsters giving it socks. Though I did see two attempt some kung fu shit during the support but it was quickly stopped.

 some of the young lads were a bit energetic at the start alright, but it was good to see them enjoy themselves after the messing stopped. Cryptopsy were good, I think the set was probably around the right length, it started to get a bit samey towards the end and I wasn't sure which song was been played.
40 was a bit steep for tshirts but I suppose they have come from US/Canada so they need to make a few bob on this.

Still plenty of tickets left for Sepultura.

I don't think Megadeth are a big draw any more

Just looked it up and : "We're easily talking about touring for another three to five years," Dave Mustaine told Kerrang! in late 2025

Quote from: ldj on August 04, 2026, 12:38:50 PMI believe the main venue is the one downstairs entered from the side lane.
Ah I suppose so, thanks

They support Disturbed here in late 2025.
I doubt they'd sell out 3Arena

tomorrow night, still some tickets available.

What does it mean by "Whelans Main Venue"?
Is that the space with the weird layout and balcony?
I thought they did most metal gigs in Opium in the back

99% sure I am going to go to this next year, looks like a perfect setup to be honest, they get a lot of the same bands as Wacken, the ticket is 100 euro less, and the glamping is cheaper, and it's about an hour away from Brussels airport.
Brutal Assault looks great but I don't fancy bussing it in & out each day.
I am too old for normal camping in a field

Got 2 standing tickets earlier, 86 euro all in which is less than what I expected for 3arena

Great news, their live videos look epic. Hopefully can get tickets

Quote from: yknaa on June 05, 2026, 10:48:08 AMWow! Ambitious. Saw them in Vicar St. Good gig but was there mainly for Accept as support. Have they become that popular?
Festival headliner at Wacken, Hellfest etc, stadium act on the continent, arena sized act UK & elsewhere. They have really exploded the last 5-10 years (similar to Powerwolf's trajectory)

Quote from: vinterland on June 02, 2026, 03:09:08 PMAmazing weekend. Delighted I went. Very easy to meet most bands at the stalls before or after their performances. Highlights were Vinterland, Old Man's Child, Totenwache, Emyn Muil, Gallowbraid and Vesperal. Bonus points for meeting Galder and Vinterland and getting plenty of hard to come by items signed. Hearing Welcome My Last Chapter in it's entirety live fulfilled a three decade old ambition. Not a hint of trouble all weekend and incredible venue. The fact that the early bird are sold out for next year says it all. Plenty of pre and post gig pints in the Lord Rosebery and B and B just over £100 for the three nights. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
thanks for the reply, am severely tempted to check it out next year

How was the festival?
Would you recommend going?

I see Emperor are headlining next year
