Inner circles is a solo project of mine and I've just released a new 5 track Ep.

If you like anathema, katatonia, paradise lost etc, you might be into this. It's a little less metal than some eras of these bands, so you may also hate it!

This definitely won't be bothered with, it all sounds so flat and lifeless compared to the original. I get that they wanted to mark the anniversary and all that, but a live version would have been a better idea IMO. It worked well enough for Draconian Times.

The one thing positive thing I will say about True Belief is he fixed the out of key vocal in the first verse. That always bugged me in the original.

Apart from that, it's missing the vibe of the original unfortunately.

Just listened to the re-recording of embers fire. I quite like it. I like the lower vocal sound he has now.

I'm actually starting to like the vocal a little more on this new version after a few listens.

I think Widow sounds decent. When I heard they were doing this re-recording, I thought it was going to be a little more "modern" sounding, but it's not really.

Although personally I would have been interested to hear a modern sounding take on the album... The original is always there to listen to, so no need to listen to a version that is trying to mimic it. It's essentially like doing a cover version of your own music..

Anyway, I'll still get my copy as I'm curious as to how it will all sound.

I read earlier on today that apparently they don't own the rights to the music or artwork of the original. So for it's anniversary, they decided to re-record it. I've not listened to that track yet but curious to hear the album redone

Not hugely into the vocals but they might grow on me. Music sounds very good. I'll need to give it a full listen tomorrow.

Yeah I'm no vocalist haha, and that was my first singing attempt.
I'll have a new EP out soon where I approached it all very differently. Hopefully I did a better job with the vox on the new one!

Do you mean me? I'm not in the band or anything. I just joined and this was one of the first posts that I seen as it was at the top haha.

I like some pretty abstract and "out there" stuff. Plus a lot of regular things haha. I just thought this sounded pretty mental and found I enjoyed it, in a weird it makes me feel a bit nauseous way haha.

Damn, this stuff is brutal and filthy and all sorts of horrible. I like it 🤢
