Saw this show indoors and outdoors. Was up close for both gigs. Both different experiences.

Watched some of it outside of the gold circle when going all the way to the back for the jacks and then back down again for a pint. The layout having the toilets at the back of the venue and the bars at the front of the venue is a bizarre setup. It made for a constant sea of people moving up and down the pitch non stop, it can be distracting from the gig having people walking by you every 2 seconds

Music could have been louder, could often hear chatter louder than the music. Guess thats just an outdoor gig, indoor gigs someone would have to go up to your ear for you to notice them speaking

Any stage times for tomorrow?

What time do ye think would be wise to get the dart from Connolly? Dont want to go out too early, but also dont want to land down to see a huge line and be stuck there for ages

Was at the Budapest show. Brilliant gig. Mighty craic when the whole crowd hasn't a clue of the setlist too.

Visuals look alot more 3D in person, compared to the youtube clips.

Thought the band were well on form.

Loved the setlist - would have prefered something else to Aces High & Wasted Years, felt they played those 2 songs quite abit on recent tours. They've got a few songs they cant drop too often like Fear, Beast, Hallowed, Trooper, Hills etc than to add those two songs to that list. But just knitpicking, Aces & Wasted are great songs.

They must be playing to a click on this tour to sync the music with the visuals??? If so, that wouldn't be the drummers fault for a couple of the tunes to sound slightly slower.

Feels like a silly question but things with tickets have changed so much over the last few years, I just want to check - I have a gold circle, mate of mine has a normal standing. At Malahide Castle, does my gold circle ticket work for both regular standing AND gold circle? I know at Ac/Dc in Wembley - one entrance on the left led to regular standing and the other entrance on the right led to Gold Circle, dont think you could come out of it with the way the layout was and just wondering is that a new a thing nowadays or just a one off?

Are they literally just remixed or are the drums redone, backing vocals redone etc. Someone mentioned the backing vocals on Five Magics and I had forgotten all about that.

Did Mustaine have them redone and figure out a way to pocket more money for him and wipe out the past members earning some of that money or did he actually just think the production was amazing and wanted to remix it to the new sound

Bizarre to do that with your classic albums. Imagine Metallica or Slayer releasing South Of Heaven, Reign in Blood, Kill Em'All, Puppets etc in the new production and deleting the older ones and newer fans not knowing anything about those timeless originals. The amount of Megadeth fans I knew that literally never heard the originals

I got into Megadeth in 2002/2003 when I was a teenager. But alot of my mates checked them out a few years later, around 2007 or 2008 and they hated them, even though they liked Metallica, Etc. I couldnt understand why. Then I realised they were listening to the remixes and showed them to proper mixes. Turned into fans straight away, they couldnt get over how different it was.

Made me realise how many people in that generation probably weren't even aware of the original mixes. I believe for awhile the original mixes were taking off the shelves and just the remixed versions could be got. Took awhile for them to pop up on spotify too.

Decided to drive up and down to this on the dry. Done it a few times but this one really stood out as the most intoxicated crowd ive been around sober

It was a good gig, really enjoyed it. Found the set very short. 1hr of music according to spotify and thats with the full versions of domination & hollow. We got an extra tune with "Yesterday" but its under an hour of actual music and the rest of the time is the low E string ringing out at the end of most tunes with zakk doodling/cymbals crashing, talking before songs, intro tapes etc. I remember when they finished song 6, I looked at the time and half the set was done and they werent even on stage 30 minutes.

Definitely for the price of gigs these days, they should be playing abit more I think.

But they were very good. Phil got himself in shape for this reunion and got his vocals down. Zakk in fairness does the job fine, could lay off the pinch harmonics and Charlie was absolutely spot on. Rex is Rex, grand.

Cool to see them play those songs in 2025. Don't think id need to see again though.

Quote from: jpm4 on December 07, 2024, 08:52:36 PMIs this actually sold out? Doesn't seem to be anything on Ticketmaster.

Seems so. I have a spare regular standing ticket if someone wants it, let me know. Just looking for the price I paid for it.

Quote from: Pagan Saviour on March 29, 2024, 04:31:09 PMCan't agree with that. Seen GNR in 2012 and Slash not long after it and the Slash gig was so dull. Myles has one of those acceptable voices with nothing particularly distinguishable about it in any respect. I'd take Axl in whatever shape his voice is in any day of the week.

They both played civil war at those shows and the GNR version had tonnes more energy.

Ah yeah, totally understand that. I enjoy GnR loads but seemed to have tons of fun at the Slash shows when he was doing it. Maybe it was just the buzz of seeing him playing GnR tracks back then. Could have been the endless amount of pints too ;D

Would have liked it if he belted out some Velvet Revolver these days if he wants the change from GnR.

I must say, the 3 tracks the bassist sang last night totally lifted the gig, what a singer.

Same size crowd as Machine Head/Amon Amarth - upper tier curtained and curtain dropped from lower tier over the standing area.

Enjoyable gig all the same but not amazing by any means. I found the sound very bassy, Myles wasnt really cutting through the mix at all. I know Slash is probably sick of playing those GnR tracks and has cut them out of his set but his shows aren't the same without them. I prefer seeing Slash's band playing Civil War etc than GnR playing them with Axl

Was definitely the distortion on the bass you heard cause I spotted it myself, was pretty much the first time I looked at Ian Hill all gig when I heard it.

Hi folks. Used to be a poster on the old metal ireland forum and have been just following stuff on this forum.

I got a little shtung by ticketmaster for this gig - purchased 2 seating tickets and the email stating the change in layout plan passed me by. After the 3 weeks were up, they changed my tickets to standing. Unfortunately, this doesn't suit. Got zero help from ticketmaster, which isn't too surprising.

So, im looking to swap 2 standing tickets for 2 seating tickets if anyone was interested in helping out? I think you can do a direct tranfer on the ticketmaster app these days? But would be willing to revolut a few quid extra if someone sorted me out with this.
