Must rewatch Nosferatu. I really enjoyed it in the cinema but it wasnt the best of Eggers work, I thought.

Remember thinking that Aaron Taylor-Johnson was a bit much at times.

Fair play- that sounds like a grand auld set up!

I have to say, best decision ive made in a long time getting my own set up. Im actually enjoying listening to music again. With Spotify and literally every fucking song available all the time, I never listened to albums, just random playlists... really just trying to find something to fill the noise while im at the gym or working. Now im actually taking in full albums again, looking forward to new releases and having something physical to buy.

Quote from: Necro Red on February 10, 2026, 10:16:10 AMBeen on a war movie buzz lately. I watched We Were Soldiers, Apocalypse Now, The Thin Red Line and Platoon. All very good. I had never seen The Thin Red Line before. Pretty good now, great cast and soundtrack

Never seen The Thin Red Line, must actually get around to it.

Not an all action war movie, but Journey's End is a great WW1 movie with a great cast and fantastic acting.

Absolutely crazy shit. Where are all the lads who thought they were in an Orwellian nightmare because someone asked them to use a different pronoun, or some shit?

Finally got around to watching Grand Budapest Hotel. Dunno why I waited so long. Thought it was very good. Ralph Fiennes is excellent.

Two Kubrick blu rays just landed yesterday, 2001: A Space Oddyssey and Barry Lyndon. Been on "The List" for years!

Never heard Coltaine before - really great stuff. Shame I couldn't hit the Galway gig.

  Yeah making a scene by exercising right to protest and legally carrying a gun.

"If these fucking libs dont stop making a scene im gonna have to fucking shoot them!" - ICE, presumably.

Crazy stuff. Peter Thiel is an absolute reptile.

Mental to think that you once gave your details to the Dept of Health Services and now all your data is readily accessible to ICE.

Am I deluded to think that AI on a large scale (i.e. full length films, documentaries, etc) is doomed to fail. I get the curiosity of "I wonder what XYZ would look like" but surely people would get fucking tired of that uncanny valley shit pretty quickly and look for something with an actual soul?

Some suits will get filthy fucking rich then the bubble bursts.

I dunno... maybe we are all fucked?

That fresh ICE murder is grim viewing. Mental to see the Administration come straight out and completely lie about what happened. They surely know all these events are filmed from multiple angles much like the Renee Goode murder.

If there was any ambiguity with the Goode murder (and really there wasnt), this one is as clear cut as it gets. He is wrestled to the ground, a gun is pulled from under his jacket by the ICE agent, and ONLY THEN once he is disarmed is he shot multiple times on the ground. Crazy shit.

Had a listen to bits last night. Doubt I will ever again. Nothing of substance really.

Yeah looks great! The result to go with it would be grand!

Very much like that. Will miss the Galway gig as I dont think my 1 year old is the gig-going type but must check out more stuff!

Would love to get back playing even a couple of times a year.

Two young kids at home rules out the regular gigging. I wished I had done more when I was younger and not tired all the bastard time!
