Heading to Liverpool next mid July..I have accommodation sorted except for the Saturday night..prices online are brutal...anyone know of places that are reasonable and not a dump... I will have my missus with me so I can't rough it... cheers!!

I go to Liverpool a few times a year. Have you tried the Premier Inn website? Generally, I stay at the Hanover Street location but I've also stayed at the one by the Moorfields train station. Both are in the city centre. There's a new one by Lime St. station but I haven't stayed there.
Other reasonable spots that I've stayed in recently are the Novotel on Hanover St. and the Doubletree just off Dale St. on Sir Thomas St.
