Quick last minute heads up: The "Where Does A Body End" documentary is showing in Dublin at the IFI tonight (Monday) at 6.30 and I believe at the Cork Film Festival tomorrow. Still tickets for Dublin this morning and it's a one off screening, apparently lots of early and unseen footage included. Trailer here

Swans are playing The Academy in Dublin 21.08.2023 - a poxy Monday - apparently.
Much as I'd love to see them live, my hearing is too fucked for it.
Sucks that it's a Monday alright, however being a huge fan and having never seen em'live this is great news.
I couldn't find confirmation of it anywhere earlier. A friend of mine text me asking if I wanted to go to Swans on that date.
Found the tour dates on Louder Than War just now.

Heard they were unreal live but never saw them. Wouldn't mind getting up to this if payday comes before selling out
Fuck it. Maiden was gonna be my final gig but here we are. Ticket and hotel booked.
I need to pick up earplugs in the interim.
Hope to make it up to this as I've never seen 'em.
For those who have...just how loud are they!?
Just got sorted with a ticket :)
Delighted. The fella I got it off has seen em before and says they are ridiculously loud and heavy
From the documentary - apparently they're so loud that the band members hallucinate onstage.
Haha
I saw them once and don't recall any major problems with deafening volume. Was a pretty hip venue in Paris though, so maybe they'd capped it, don't know. Mesmerizing gig though anyway, enjoy!
They are loud but no worse than some metal bands. I wouldn't forgot the ear plugs.
I forgot the earplugs. I am now sorry.
Loud, intense, brilliant. Shame about the feedback in the final song but it didn't take much from it. Great stuff, enjoyed Westberg as support too.
Bollocks. Completely missed that one. Would've gone to that.
Nothing on Setlist FM for it yet (and I'm not familiar enough with the last couple of albums yet), but the setlist for this tour seems to be:
The Beggar
The Hanging Man
Ebbing
The Memorious
Cathedrals Of Heaven
No More Of This
Leaving Meaning / Cloud Of Unknowing / Birthing
(I presume Birthing is a new song).

missed the support as I could only go after work. what sort of thing was it?
Norman Westberg, former Swan. Guitar based ambient, not unlike the Final guitar albums. Really good, just one continual performance of loops & effects. 35 mins. was just about enough, as I could see it stretching my attention span toward the end.
