Title: Setups
Post by: Spoderman01 on November 29, 2018, 01:00:26 PM
Used to really enjoy this thread on MI. Not too many changes to the board recently other than JHS Bonsai replaced the JHS modded EHX Soul Food. New Boss Katana head came during the week so I need to sit down and figure out the software for it. And the synth and drum pad machine are getting some mileage. Typically though, I start in the new job on Monday so will have limited time to play with these toys going forward ;D

NOW SHOW ME YOUR WARES!!

That is fucking amazing, honestly. My brain cannot comprehend where to even start with all that.

You still running the rack mounted setup?

Yeah, just for recording.  I have a Digidesign Eleven as a recording interface and usually use the amp sims and effects on that, though I recently got the Waves PRS amp plugin which is really nice. I have some stuff recorded with Carl from TTOW singing on it, we're going to put it out in the next few days, the only mic used was for the vocals. Everything else was through the Eleven. It sounds grand to my ears.

Live, my setup would be something like guitar -> cable -> amp, with the amp being either the Fryette or the little Engl into a Marshall 4x12. When I see rigs like yours I feel like I'm doing something wrong :D

That is very impressive indeed. Makes my own setup look primitive by comparison!

How long did it take you to get all that together?

Pedalboard came together over the last couple of years. Had the Crate half stack for ages. Rest of the bits over the last few months.

Got around to this eventually. The amp side of the room with the Fryette and Engl Ironball into the 4x12, the solid state Ampeg VH140C combo for guitar and the old Ashdown ABM for the more important bass stuff.

And the recording side, Digidesign Eleven, Engl Preamp and Palmer Speaker emulator. I have a cheapo little Yamaha mixer in there for running all the different audio outputs to which feeds the two Alesis monitors.

Seriously doubt my post would be of much use without pics, but I am always using 2 amps on stage(have not played live for over 2 years though).
My main amp is Framus Cobra with a matching 4x12 Greenbacks loaded cab. I usually have a Marshall JVM or a 6505+ with whatever cab on the other side of the stage.
Am using Lehle aby pedal to run both amps at the same time.......

Here is a picture of my bedroom practice setup.

Ibanez rgaix6fm>boss tuner>mxr phase90>maxon od9>Joyo zombie>harley Benton 1x12.

Joyo is a great practice head for metal tones. I also did a bit of recording with it and it held it's own.

I'll post my gig rig soon.  :abbath:
