Hey lads, I am the main editor of the new fanzine Flail ov Venom. We sold out all our copies on the night of the Sacrilegia/Gealach/Imrama gig in Cork alst weekend. The zine is now available to order online via Fomorian Hate Records, you can order here: https://fomorianhaterecords.bandcamp.com/merch/flail-ov-venom-zine-issue-1-sept-19
We put this together as a hobby and for no profit. We already have started the next few editions and they are already full of more content. If you are a collector and interested, the zines are 4.50 euro (includes shipping) and have download codes. Features content on Kringa, Sacrilegia, Departure Chandelier, ChapelFlames (interview), Panzerwar, Matterhorn and more.
Furthermore, some people have asked about the tape trading, we are trying to set up a network/system to get that going if we get the numbers. Enquiry at flailovvenomzine@gmail.com.
Ordered. Nice to see a bit of initiative being taken regarding the zine and also the tape trading idea. No doubt many will scoff but I'm at least interested to hear what the decision is behind the move considering the ease of bandcamp, YouTube, forums etc as a means of disseminating music.
Copy ordered, looking forward to digging into it

I'm not an older head or anything but I started getting a few zines via some instagram pages I came across. All US stuff. They too tried it on with tape trading. Didn't work too well on my end as many of my partners weren't willing to pay the shipping costs to over here. Took to long to arrive too. I was asked to write for a few sites before but never had much interest in the end. The zine format is great that way and is enjoyable to make. The first volume is about 22 pages long, hoping to increase this for the next one, already have some content lined up. Hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
Nice one. Ordered a copy there now!
Ordered.
I'm an old head and was heavily into tapetrading back in the day,and while I've neither the time nor gear to do it nowadays it's cool to think people might still do it.
Just landed, looking forward to giving it an ould read at lunchtime. I see they threw in a Gealach demo, possibly as an "up yours" for me saying it wasn't my thing elsewhere on the board
Suppose I better dig out the ould tape trading list!
Copy arrived, only had a skim through but looks great, fair play putting in the work to put it together.
Gealach download was a nice touch too!
Got it today as well. Cheers.

Perhaps haha, feel free to give it away of course. Regarding the tape trading we've maybe 3 lads into it, need an even number for it to work but shoot the email a message if you are. Cheers for the support.

Cheers lads, we're already onto issue 2 with 3 interviews, less filler and some varied content. Going to keep the templates as they were a pain to make in first place haha. Expect improvements and more content anyways. Cheers for getting behind it to kick start the whole thing. It's a nice hobby to have. Hope ye find some tunes out of it, that's the main thing.
Nice vibe off this, definitely made with the kind of enthusiasm I remember being around when folks of my generation (particularly in Cork, funnily enough) were discovering black metal in the early 90s. Definitely not my buzz musically as I'm a death metal head but fair play. Best of luck with future issues and the tape trading thing in particular.
For anyone still interested, the second issue is being printed at the moment. Had a lot of issues and delays hence why it's late but here are some mockups, we've done up the layout and have more content (three interviews, more reviews, a tapebox review, a column on old school records, a film review, less ads but mainly local stuff).
Class stuff, will grab one now. You need any more writers at all? Do a bit for Covenant in Canada so it would be good to help out closer to home.

Still having issues with the printer, should be sorted by next week (even though it says January on the cover). Will be available soon anyways. We have a good few writers at this stage, the first one started with 4 other lads sending me stuff and now I have 6 or so lads. Bit crowded for the moment but will be open for submisisons in the future. Thanks for the interest though.
