Title: NFL 2021
Post by: Mower Liberation Front on September 08, 2019, 12:09:15 PM
New board, new season, same old stuff.

Antonio Brown is got to be pissing himself laughing right now, all these experts the past few weeks suggesting he could have CTE to explain his behaviour, when it was all just a plan cooked up by him, his agent and the Patriots to sign for them. At this point I wouldn't be surprised to see Andrew Luck come out of retirement to sign for them as Shady's back up.

Fish not even bothering to hide they're tanking, even skipping a couple of steps on the Fitzpatrick Cycle, to put him in as starting QB.

Jets? Thankfully Toilet Bowles got flushed, not sold on Gase yet. I reckon 8-8 is more than a posibility, and as long as Darnold continues to develop, we could be set for a playoff run in 2020. I know I've said that quite often over the past few years though...
(And I don't mind the new unis, especially when you look at what Nike have inflicted on other teams)

What about you guys?

Belicheck uses a loophole to run down the clock while 33-0 up against the Jets. Then spotted laughing, thinks it's all so hilarious.
Vrabel uses the same loophole to run down the clock while leading against the Patriots, Belichek loses his shit.

Ain't karma a bitch, you thieving cunt?

Yes indeed. It was hilarious watching the prick. Glad they were beaten. Going to be some finish now.

You'd think the Niners would have learned form the earlier playoff games. Don't lead the Chiefs by double digits, or bad things will happen.

Glad to see them win though, they've been waiting almost as long as the Jets, and Andy Reid finally wins one.

Yes I backed them to win it at the playoff stage.

Poor old Boston. It's Paddy's Day, the bars are all shut.
And Tom Brady has announced he's leaving.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of cunts.

Okay, so the Chiefs won Thursday, but the big kickoff is today. Going to be weird with almost all the stadiums empty, and with zero preseason games, nobody's really sure how things will go. Reckon we'll suck. Gase is still in charge, and with an all-new offensive line with zero game time, and Sam having got fuck all in the way of wide receivers to throw to, we will struggle to score.

Brady in the NFC reunited with Gronk, Cam Newton working for the forces of Evil, Rapistberger back and fit, and OBJ wanting women to shit on him. The more things change...

The Chargers' team doctor accidentally punctured his own quarterback Tyrod Taylor's lung just before kickoff Sunday while trying to administer a pain-killing injection to the quarterback's cracked ribs, league and team sources told ESPN.

The doctor he replaced? 2 DUIs, Raided by DEA for writing himself 108 prescriptions, malpractice lawsuit for severing a patient's artery, multiple lawsuits for multiple career ending misdiagnoses, and lost his surgery license in 2013.

Fuck this organisation. Seven games to go til 0-16. They can't go by quick enough.

Only caught the extended highlights of the Jets vs. Patriots game before work. Jesus Christ, that last few minutes looked like a high school game. Flacco was all the shop by the end. This after launching a 50 yard power bomb to put himself into the record books. What in fuck's name was the second to last Jets drive about?  Or the last one? Floundering about in the pocket? Run it!

Meanwhile in Chicago, Matt Nagy is taking notes from the Brendan Rodgers playbook. The Bears have lost the last 3. Matt's response - "We don't need Debbie Downers criticising us". At least Da Bears are still fun to watch. Glad that I'm not a Jets fan...  :abbath:

No idea, Don. I watch the extended highlights on YouTube. If I'm not working, I'll try to catch a game live. A buddy of mine gave me a link to watch all US sports channels but on both Android and Apple devices it comes up with a warning.

Meanwhile, last night...

The Cardinals' Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins combining to shithouse the Bills.

How did Hopkins make that catch with three on him. Nearly lying on top of him.

Same old Jets. This is worse than Kotite, tbh. At least that team was competitive, had a lot of good players,  just had a useless coach - Parcells took the majority of that team to 20 minutes from a Super Bowl two years later. This team? One game where they've lost by a single score, guys off the street, and a useless coach. Jury's still out on the GM, though he seems to have had a decent draft, Becton looks like he will be a monster, and if Mims can keep healthy, he'll be a good one. And he fleeced Seattle in the Jamal Adams trade.

BBC have an NFL show on Saturday nights, I think. And that Murray to Hopkins touchdown. Amazing. Even more amazing than the Texans decision to trade Hopkins in the first place.

And poor old Brees, multiple rib fractures on both sides and a collapsed lung.

On, Thursday, Broncos QB Jeff Driskel tested positive for Covid. In the last hour Drew Lock, Brett Rypien and Blake Bortles (who did not wear masks apparently while in practice)  were deemed high-risk close contacts today. And have been ruled out for toemorrow. So Denver went from 4 to 3 to zero QBs for tomorrow's game against the Saints.
Which is still going ahead.
Funny how Goodell bent over backwards to allow New England to postpone a game when Newton tested positive...

And Patricia got sacked by the Lions. Another coach canned mid-season, yet Googly Eyes Gase still stumbles on...

Jets now 0 - 12. Last night was a lesson in how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. It's pretty plain to see that the Raiders had nothing to go on in that last 5 minutes. They just kept knocking at the door with the same hopeful launch passing. And then they left Ruggs completely open with nothing left on the clock.

If there were crowds allowed into stadiums there'd be a bloodletting at the MetLife by now.

Bears should have beat the Lions.

It's ridiculous, everybody's going "Oh, the Jets deliberately threw that game." Do these people not think, that if we were throwing it, we wouldn't have stopped them on fourth down a minute earlier? Gregg Williams has history of pulling that shit. Almost every defensive coordinator will rush 3-4 guys, and have everybody back. Not Williams, he decides to win the game with a sack, rushes 8 guys, and it cost us.
And it's cost him, he got fired today - he's got a habit of getting fired too.

It wouldn't have been bloodletting, it would have been a party. A large of amount of the Jets fans present would have been booing, (quite a few would have relieved as the Trevor Tank keeps going), but the vast majority of the crowd would be wearing silver and black and cheering, with their $20 tickets, because the majority of Jets fans would have sold them on Stubhub for a pittance weeks ago.

I'm hoping the Bears play like that against Jacksonville.

Wow, how bad were the Rams?

Saw somewhere where the list of people who were happiest about the Jets win was:

1. Jags fans
2. Bookmakers
3. Seahawks fans
4. Cards fans
.
.
.
.
85. Rams fans
.
.
203. Jets fans

I can see why, a huge amount of the fanbase were convinced that we'd go 0-16, get the first pick, and draft Trevor Lawrence, who'd lead us to a decade of dominance, and how that win means another ten years of mediocrity. But given this organisation's record of screwing up QBs? We draft Trevor, he'd probably be done within five years.

But it's interesting to see how all of a sudden nobody in the US sports media are going on anymore about how Trevor needs to stay in school, how teams that tank shouldn't be allowed the #1 pick, all this shit, now it's no longer the Jets with that pick. There was none of this when Cleveland or Detroit stunk out the league for years on end.

Still, two games til Gase is gone.
Hopefully.
At least the playoffs will be without the stench of Belicheat this time, though the refs will do their best to make sure Brady makes them.

Rams trade Goff plus two first round picks and a third round pick to the Lions for Stafford.
I wonder how much the Texans will want for Deshaun Watson now.

Draft Day, so watch the Jags piss around for the full time allotted before they pick Lawrence.
Naturally enough, failed QB and failed baseball player Tim Tebow decides to try and overshadow it by letting it be known he's having tryouts with the Jags... as a TE.
Not to be outdone, Aaron Rodgers proceeds to drop a nuke by saying he wants out of Green Bay. Now.
Going to be an interesting night.

Brady fucking off, the Dolphins being accused of paying their coach to throw games?
Best non-gameday stuff in the NFL in a long time.
