Mad line up!,
.
Fuck me sideways
2000 tickets.
That's some lineup, is this the first time for Death Angel in Ireland? Can't remember them being here since they got back together at least
Holy fuck.
Death Angel were here around 2004. Great show but wasn't too many at it .
Curious to see if there is a Slane effect, will there be a new generation of trashers in the crowd?
are all the standing tickets already sold out for this gig?
The general admission ground floor standing is sold out. Still plenty of other standing options:
Other STANDING areas:
BLOCKS B, C, D, E, F are GROUND FLOOR
BLOCKS H, J, K, P, Q & R are TIERED STANDING
(these are all assigned seats when you purchase your ticket but standing is permitted in all of these blocks making them standing areas for this show (you stand where your seat is)
For actually sitting, select BLOCKS L, M, N & 0 - SEATED - these are designated seating blocks so please buy here if you're going to want to sit
Yeah actual pit standing was gone when I bought. Picked up one of the ground floor blocks. Never been to this place but going by Google images it looks like you'll have a great view no matter where you are.
Mostly going for Exodus tbh, been 9 years since I saw them. Testament put on a great show but I've seen them a bunch of times in the last few years. Seen Death Angel live before too, ok at best IMO.
.
Holt will be with them. Slayer finishes this year. He confirmed it on the Exodus page himself.

Why, I didn't see any thrash bands playing slane?
Anyone know where Block G is? Tickets arrived saying that's where I'll be. Standing apparently.
I asked Ticketmaster but they didn't have a clue (fantastic use of my service charge)..

Cheers for that..
Although it looks like I'll be behind the stage...
You sure you're not misreading that? Block G isn't on sale due to stage position.

Yep, it says STND -G5-36 and my mate is STND-G5-37
Looking at the map, I Think that puts us beside the drum kit

Let's hope so!!
I think standing was a different letter. W?
Yeah that's the general standing. T'master renamed it STND rather than Block W without me knowing when I posted the ticketing info.

Fantastic!! I'm in the pit!!
Much as I would have liked to be sitting on the stage, this is a bit of a relief.
Thanks for that..
Is standing sold out for this?

Have had my ticket months, but i'm wondering if it says anything about the passion or drive of Metal Fans in Ireland if this hasn't sold out yet? what is it 2k it holds? there's a Metal Heads Ireland facebook page with thousands of members, but like Testament and Exodus is litteraly A level trash.

Well strictly speaking they would be considered b level - below the big 4. People may disagree with me on that but that's how I see them. It's also on a weekday in Dublin - that particular issue has been discussed to death both here and on MI but it stills remains true - it being a mid week gig in Dublin is understandably a disincentive to travel.
Cheers man, does all make sense. Accommodation not cheap in Dublin either.

Lack of passion?? Standing tickets sold out months ago!! It clearly has more to do with the fact that the remaining ticket selection is fairly shit. Can't imagine too many people scrambling for tickets that will have them seated miles away from the stage at a thrash gig?
Fair play to your for getting your ticket early. I'm hoping I can score a standing ticket soon.
Miles away? I've only being to the stadium for boxing, it ain't big, nowhere is miles away. For the boxing anyway there are no bad seats.
I've never actually been to this venue, I've only seen the seating plan, so I might have been a bit off the mark with "miles away".
OK so a few quick points:
- Miles away? Hardly. The vantage points are amazing everywhere due to the tiered nature of the venue. Sure all the seats aren't ideal but that's life.....if any of you know another circa 2k cap venue in Dublin then I'm all ears. Fact is the tour wasn't coming here unless I could provide a capacity like that after Testament selling out Vicar St easily last time. The remaining tickets are no different to standing at, for example, Vicar St from halfway back 'cos you don't want to be in the pit.
- Sales are just fine - London is 2300 cap and isn't sold out yet, as an example. There are also a fair few venues on the tour in both UK & EU smaller than Dublin.
Over and out.
Tickets on the door ?
Getting tickets to this next week after pay day, going to be a big month for tickets. I've never been to this specific venue but boxing venues are usually pretty tight and the tiered standing bit seems cool, less chance of being stood behind a tree. Two and a half thousand tickets seems a big shift but fair play to DME for going for it, three quality bands there and they know more about putting gigs on than I do.
I've been at boxing there nice venue.
Show schedule for those looking to make plans....
Doors 6
Death Angel 6.45 - 7.35
Exodus 8 - 9
Testament 9.30 - 11
(subject to change)
A sardonically ironic poster. There are major landmarks getting destroyed but the American's get an itch in their craic when the old Twin Towers are mentioned.

I don't think so. As far as I'm aware, neither the Eiffel tower nor Big Ben have exploded, where as the Twin Towers disaster was a very real event which killed almost 3000 people.
Finally got tickets, 45 quid for three bands that could by rights headline a show over here on their own is pretty decent value.
What's parking like in that area?
Pretty stationary.
is there any Bars in this Place??
Looks like there is :abbath:
Should have a spare standing ticket for the main floor/pit. I'll be there for about 630 hopefully.
Face value. I don't know how to pm, but if anyone wants it just leave a message here and/or I'll see you outside.
I've only listened to the new Exodus album a handful of times since it came out. Listening to it now on the bus on the way down and I have to say, the track Blood In, Blood out is a fucking banger!!!
Bring the mayhem,
Anything you do is allowed.
You're the kings of pit insanity
Tonight we're gonna rage and make Paul Baloff proud!
Well what's the verdict on last night? Sound was poor enough I thought but all three bands compensated with energy which belied their advanced ages! The pint throwing brigade were out in full force again I noticed.
Ah good gig. Death Angel were great very up for it and was happy to see a well full venue at 6.45. Exodus sound was a mess and ruined it for me. The sound for Testament was decent and I really enjoyed their set. The place was rocking all night. Great venue and staff.
Looking at photos on Facebook from last night,it looks a cool venue!
Fantastic gig. Decent venue if you are on the floor. Most of the seats seemed ok as well but I didn't sit so won't know.
Sound wasn't great, for Exodus, but they were great. Blacklist being the standout of the set.
Death Angel were fantastic. Really gave their all, and the speech the singer gave really got everyone wound up and set the moshing up for the night.
Testament were great, even though I was wrecked by this time. Not sure why the support bands weren't allowed use the lights though. Great to hear Fall of Sipledome and Preacher.
Great night, my old legs are in bits though..
Thought it was a great gig and a decent venue, the staff seemed to go out of their way to be friendly and help as best they could. All the bands were class but yeh Exodus' sound was ropey to start. Wasn't actually a massive fan of Death Angel or Testament before last night as I'd never given them much of a listen, thought Exodus deserved more stage space than what they got though. I know shows of that size are few and far between but I'd be happy enough to go to a gig there again, if it was on a weekend and you could wander down throughout the afternoon on a pub crawl you'd be laughing.
Did they play much from the gathering? It's literally their only album i listen to all the time but I don't see songs from it feature a whole lot in live shows
Fall of Sipledome only. I was happy to hear the Pale King from recent albums. In fairness the older stuff sounded great live.
A great night! I was stressing out trying to get a standing ticket for ages, turns out you can just walk in from the seats not a bother
Death Angel sounded great and they gave it socks.
Exodus and Testament gave a lot of energy alright. The lights were fucking cool too. Didn't see any pints being thrown about myself, not up the front anyway.
Fiver a pint not bad for Dublin! Security/staff were real sound too. I'd go back there for sure.
