Title: Tapping the Vein: Industrial Crust
Post by: leoos on July 03, 2019, 09:42:10 AM
I was sent this link via Facebook which is a piece about a bunch of the the heavier bands doing the DIY hardcore rounds in the UK in the late 80's early 90's

I listened to a lot of Deviated Instinct, Doom, Sonic Violence, Prophecy of Doom back then, no real idea it was part of a scene just that they were all available from Peaceville in record shops in Cork

Was anyone else on here into that kinda stuff back then?

The Saw Throat album mentioned in there is deadly, had never even heard of it. Only ever listened to Disgrace to the Corpse of Sid by Sore Throat

Cheers for the Mortuous link, apart from the Nailed ep the rest of the Deviated Instinct stuff was pretty badly recorded, and not really in a so bad its good way either in my opinion, there was a night and day difference once I heard Nailed

I had the original Sore Throat (new wave punk band formed in London in 1975) album 'Sooner Than You Think' on LP.
I gave it to a friend who begged me for it in return for Doom, Electro Hippies, etc tapes. It was a fair swap all round....

Great album and 'Flak Jacket' one of the singles is a right catchy fecker of a tune.....
