Title: Tank and the Bangas
Post by: Eoin McLove on June 30, 2019, 12:07:15 AM
I was flicking around the telly and caught the very end of the Tommy Tiernan Show and this band played a song.  Mind bending stuff.  It's a mixture of rap,  soul,  jazz,  funk, prog, theatre musical and probably loads of other stuff I don't recognize. Every song (judging from my YouTube wormhole exploration) is an epic that subtly rocks and melts and shapeshifts into all kinds of new, exciting terrain,  led by brilliant vocals that tell amusing and dark stories.  I've never heard anything like it before.

Cheers for the heads up. This must be incredible bud fodder.

On a related note I've discovered some great music through NPR Tiny Desk over the past year or so. The video podcast is well worth subscribing too. Here's one that I really enjoyed and was lucky enough to catch live last year - an incredible group of musicians.
