Hi all, looking to buy a decent record player without going mad price wise, anything out there you'd recommend
thanks
Define what would be "mad price-wise".
I'd be hoping to spend no more than €300
This is at the top of your budget but for the money, you can't go far wrong;

I recently bought a Planar 2 and it is a joy.
thanks Lads
I always hear good things about Rega.
I have a Pro-Ject Debut III and it's great for the price. I've heard a few of the other models and they've always sounded decent so you might want to look at other Pro-Ject models as there's plenty of them well within your budget
One important thing to keep in mind is your actual setup. If you don't have an amp with a phono stage then you'll need to factor that into your decision!
Another shout for Rega here. Got a Planar 2 last year after my old Sony packed it in. Its a great turntable, like said above, just make sure your amp has a Phono input, otherwise you'll have to get a preamp too.
The only drawback is having to lift off the platter and move the band manually in order to change speeds.

+1 on the Pro-ject, I have the Pro-ject essential III at home and find it great!
Project Debut III are a great deck, very reliable. Rega are a good tool as well, though next time I think I might go back to Project.
I also have the Planar 2, nice sound from it. I find I have to stockpile my 44rpm as I'm too lazy to swap it back and forth. I have it paired to a Denon PMA-520AE and its pretty good sounding.
