Title: Ipod repair?
Post by: Trev on June 03, 2019, 08:35:28 AM
After nearly 10 years faithful service I dropped my ipod the other day and now it's fucked.  Is there any places around Dublin that are decent for repairs?

Failing that any recommendations for large capacity  mp3 players? Still don't want to go down the streaming roure

In what way is it broken?

If you're in any way technical, they can be quite easy to fix especially if it's one of the ipods with the plastic front.

Throwing up an error screen when it turns on, and makes a bit of a whirring noise so I reckon the hard drive could be knackered

I was having a look at this earlier https://www.iflash.xyz/store/iflash-quad/ so might just skip trying to fix it and lash one of those in instead

Apple just released a 256gb iPod touch.

If it's making a clicking noise then the hard drive could be fucked. Might be worth a quick reset if you haven't already.

When it's off, press and hold the menu button and the centre button for a few seconds until you see the apple logo display. Can sometimes fix a few issues without deleting anything from the ipod
