UK death metallers MEMORIAM, featuring Karl Willetts of BOLT THROWER fame on vocals, come to The Grand Social, Dublin this Friday 6th September alongside TEN TON SLUG & ZEALOT CULT. Tickets still available and on the door too. Schedule: Doors 7. Zealot Cult 7.45. Ten Ton Slug 8.30. Memoriam 9.30.

Same here. The new album is the best by far though. I even prefer it to the Hellfire demos.

Quality gig! The first gig I've been to in the Grand Social. Really good venue I have to say, much prefer it over the Voodoo Lounge.

Great to see such a good turn out last night, place was packed. Zealot Cult were the highlight for me always killer. Not into the chugfest of TTS at all and found Memoriam a bit samey, like they were playing the same Bolt Thrower-esque song on repeat all night but its fairly clear that im in the minority on that.

Sure ten ton slug have one song and they just repeat it over and over again.

Yeah, unfortunately I'd agree with that assessment of the Slugs. It has to be said, they sound absolutely massive, have great stage presence - have all their merch and aesthetics in order but they badly need to write some better material, as the stuff they have is incredibly once dimensional. I've seen them perhaps more times than I would've liked to as they've appeared on a lot of bills and the point about the material is more valid after each show, a deviation from the strict blueprints they seem to have drawn up for themselves would see them turn into a very serious proposition in my opinion.

Did Memoriam have a drummer who could play the songs this time?Saw them a few years ago and Andy Whale was atrocious.

Not really familiar with their material so have no idea how well it was played but it was Andy Whale playing with them.

I thought he was really good on Saturday night. Their material live is a bit samey though. Seems to have lost some of the nuance from the album
