Are Mayhem still only doing the DMDS stuff or will we get to hear some Deathcrush this time?
They were playing a 'Demon Anthology "set recently , which is a kinda best of so I'm sure they'll play that. After saying I'd never go see them again I'm kinda tempted by Gaahls Wyrd, wouldn't mind seeing a few Trelldom or Gaahlskag songs live.
They've a new album coming out shortly beforehand so presumably we'll get a bit of that.
Loving Gaahl Wyrds new album, seeing them before doing some gorgoroth & Trelldom songs so will probably be the highlight for me. Gost is a strange one to have for support, but should be interesting!
Very pleasantly surprised by the Gaahls Wyrd album, cool mix of styles and way more varied throughout than I was expecting
Mayhem were great the last time they played .different when your not drawing from one classic
Album.
Hope they do whiskey in the jar though.
Anyone looking a mayhem ticket? £25 or €30. Cheaper than ticketmaster.
It's a shame that this clashes with A Pale Horse Named Death. I would have liked to have seen Gaahl.
Any idea of a finish up time on this? Bus to catch etc...
10.45
Cool cheers. Should it be alright for a ticket on the door?
Aye.
Sunday! Get tickets @ http://bit.ly/mayhem-dublin and they'll be on the door too.
Doors 18:30
Gost 19:00 - 19:30
Ghaal's Wyrd 19:50 - 20:35
Mayhem 21:05 - 22:45
(subject to change)
I know it's short notice but can we actually get Tom G Warrior instead of Gaahl?
I'm still two minds about getting a ticket

Hehehe. Gaahl's stock has seriously dropped since Gorgoroth and the silly documentary appearances, hasn't it. Gonna be a comedy part of the show for sure.
Some lad on Facebook reckons Drakonis were personally asked by Mayhem to play but are being kept down. Never mind that it's the same support across the entire tour.
Setlist for previous nights looks savage, second half is heavy on DMDS and Deathcrush. Bring it on. 😈
Just in the venue now. What the fuck am I watching? Disco black metal?
Fucking hell, that was warfare. Freezing Moon levelled the place. Loved the stuff off Deathcrush. And I really liked Gahhl's Wyrd! He seems a bit humbled with the whole project. A bit lighter. It was a fun, mellow pagany wagany black metal set.
Thought nothing of Gost. Get yourselves a full band. There's a place for it, though. Like YouTube genre playlists.
Great day yesterday between the two shows. Really enjoyed both!
Just worth mentioning there was definitely a portion of youngsters at the Mayhem show that clearly had just watched Lords of Chaos bought themselves a black metal uniform and tipped on in. Some painful conversations heard on the way in and between sets. My favorite was two clueless black metal interns panicked to pretend they both knew the vocalist from Wyrd was Gaahl from Gorgoroth after their set. Or maybe the chick who panicked in the queue and decided at literally the last minute (was handing over cash) that the gig might be too mental and ran out the door leaving her friends behind.
Or what about the lad with the Dead Pigeon in his back pack?

What?!
Really enjoyed this gig, good sound makes all the difference. Deathcrush era material was delivered with suitable brutality and even the new stuff sounded interesting enough. Didn't really notice any stand out newbs or pigeon smugglers, appeared almost identical to every other "big" BM gig ive ever been to.
No harm tbh Everyone has to start somewhere.. can't all be born KVLT :abbath:
"black metal interns"
On the girl running away... should have taken her under your wing and learned her about the black metulz :abbath: :-X
"Dead Pigeon in his back pack" ... there's always someone trying WAY too hard #notkvlt
Didn't notice anything like that myself, either. Did see one or two people old enough to know better bodyslamming themselves into young wans at the barrier who clearly had no intention of moshing.
The kids are alright. New fans = bigger crowds, more merch, keeping these bands on the road.
If you were staying trve to Euronymous' ethos for the band, you wouldn't have even showed up. No mosh, no core, no fun.
It's bollocks. It's all just a laugh. Come on to fuck.
des mysteriis dom pigeonas mortis?
Going mad they didn't play Lords of Chaos.
People call metal heads freaks for a reason, the dead pigeon in the back pack really doesnt help our cause!
Indeed. A dead pigeon delivers no newsletters.
Good to hear there were a few clueless teenagers making the effort if you ask me.

Sounds like the whole thing was a write-off so

I get the sentiment, and I think it's great as well, but I'd prefer to see them as passionate rather than clueless.
Which of us hasn't been there as a youth? The people slagging them seem to forget where they came from before they got up on their high horse. It's a lot more against the herd these days than any oldies can claim.

Deadly gig, Mayhem were savage. Couldn't resist the pit for Deathcrush. What was with someone lobbing a drink at Necrobutcher? He wasn't pleased about that. He's probably thinking about killing that person  could have done without seeing him topless. Met Gaahl in the lobby and had a little chat, what a nice young man, very soft spoken compared to the howling, shrieking beast he is onstage.
Gig was deadly. Attila looked a bit like Young Ones era Adrian Edmondson in his Deathcrush gear.
Mosh pit was crazy - hard to avoid both that and the couple of large drunk guys staggering around the place.
The staff sure do like mopping the floor.

Good one from the balcony :abbath:

The guy who lobbed it was in front of me stage right where the seating is and I tell ya he didn't half keep his head down after Necro took umbrage. Seemed like your average Joe who prob saw the movie recently, like the bunch of bopping Asian touristy types I also had for added entertainment.
