QuoteHi everyone, on November 20th we're releasing "Fléau du Cosmos," and we're especially moved to share it with you today. It's already available to stream in full on Bandcamp (link in comments).
It would feel strange not to mention Shiran's passing at this particular moment. The immense sadness we've carried since he left us, along with a certain sense of reserve, still makes it hard for us to say much about it.
We worked on this album with Shiran throughout the two years of his fight against cancer. He shaped this record fully alongside us, until it became exactly what it is today. He was part of every step and every decision. Even as he faced his illness, he was a bright flame of boundless fervor, always by his friends' side to live the things that made him feel alive, the things that embodied the life he wanted, and the life he lived.
Working on this album with us was one of the things that gave him the strength to keep fighting every day, and he did it with all the enthusiasm, kindness and strength we knew him for: an inspiration to all of us.
Since then, we've often felt that music could seem trivial in the face of the grief of losing a friend. But we also know that it stands as a powerful testament to his life and to our love for him.
He would have loved to be here to share this record, and, as he wished, we're sharing it with you today. We're proud of this album and we're proud of our friend.
We love you, Shiran.
Great to see this getting released, and it sounds fucking immense! :abbath: :abbath:
