The Distortion Project is delighted to announce something a little different for February 2027 — METAL AT THE MILL, a one-of-a-kind event bringing six bands to the spectacular surroundings of Theatre at the Mill.
This isn't your usual metal show.
Set within the historic Mossley Mill complex, Theatre at the Mill gives us the opportunity to present these bands in a completely different environment — a purpose-built theatre with a huge stage, full-scale production capabilities and a 700-capacity standing auditorium.
At the top of the bill, THE CRAWLING will mark the release of their new "What We Leave Behind" EP with a very special headline performance, joined by UK progressive death metal veterans DE PROFUNDIS, Belfast death metal heavyweights STRANGLE WIRE, progressive metallers NØMADUS, crushing riff merchants MICROTONAL and rising heavy metal outfit FALCHION.
The idea behind METAL AT THE MILL is simple: take the intensity and atmosphere of an underground metal show and put it onto a stage and into a setting you wouldn't normally get the chance to experience it in.
Six bands. One massive stage. A unique venue. Full production.
For one day, we're turning the theatre into something considerably heavier.
This is a rare opportunity to see some of the finest heavy music from these shores and beyond presented in a completely different setting — and we're planning to make full use of it.
