I enjoy FF, I've never had any expectations of them to do anything beyond what their sthick is. For some reason it fits the whole brand to continue with a replica vocalist :laugh: it's uncanny valley when listening. The song is much aligned to a more modern sounding mesh of mechanize / obsolete.
Got a bit creeped out scrolling through the comments on YT to see the same bot like responses scattered throughout "fear factory are finally fear factorying" "this slaps" but maybe people are just generic with their replies I can't tell anymore :laugh:
I enjoy them too, first two are still favourites of mine. Then there's a banger here and there like Mechanize. Archetype wasn't bad either. They've their own sound and you get what you get.
This however felt a bit Temu, video comical too. The new vocalist comes across a bit sad with all the burtonisms
I'm going to listen to it without looking at the video and see what I think here
Yeah it's sort of I Can't Believe It's Not Fear Factory without looking at the video. There's a bit of difference in the melodic vocals but it's tiny.
I think it's grand actually but I like a fair bit of the discography already

The song's not very good and the video's cringeworthy in the extreme, but I Can't Believe It's Not Burton does a decent job of cloning Bell. About bloody time they put out something new, even if it is by the numbers.
I didn't watch the video at all. I'd seen a clip on Twitter like not even 30 seconds and I knew I'd never be able to look at it

Worse than I expected, and went in with low expectations anyway.
There's probably more than a few here of a certain vintage who had no time for this era of Roadrunner in the first place, but for some of us the early to mid 90's played an important role in our formative years. I fucking despise Machine Head but still look back on Burn My Eyes with a degree of fondness. See also Chaos AD. Demanufacture also features here but it's incredible how little FF have progressed since then. Still stuck on the Terminator 2 shtick lads eh?
It's meh enough. Chorus is too happy. He does a good Burton, in fairness.
The video is silly. The music is OK in a typically FF way- nothing surprising in it, but it's grand. The vocals suck. The chorus is way too poppy. On Demanufacture, which is the only album I ever got into by them, the choruses may have been clean sung, but they had a bit of darkness to them. A goth influence maybe? They at least didn't just sound like pop melodies.
Bell was a huge goth fan and has mentioned that was a big influence on the clear vocals
The new lad, buy comparison, sounds like his inspiration only extends to modern metalcore. Not much substance there, really.

I like how realistic Dino is as a scientist at the start, very convincing in a straight to tv movie called "Machine Takeover Nexus Eraser"
I hope their songs is getting paid well for his Stars In Their Eyes performance.
Video is cheesy. I can't take it seriously at all. It is what it is. I love FF, but my fondness is drifting slowly away now. It is an ok song at best
Funny that their music about the future now sounds so unbelievably dated.
