Liking what I've heard of this so far, defo a nod to some of the old stuff in there and one of their better releases since they reformed.

Yeah, had a listen last night, nothing unexpected ,I've liked all the latter era releases and this one sounds to be another good one.

Ive had it on non stop since Friday, it's excellent I think. The other reunion albums never clicked with me. Putting aside the circumstances of this release - the music on it is great, fast, up-tempo throughout, and catchy.  You can hear his voice was shot for sure, the poor guy. But its a great release regardless. If this came out in 98 or so I'd have been a very happy boy.

Just got it today - sounds great so far.

QuoteThe other reunion albums never clicked with me.

First two didn't but I consider The Nightmare of Being to be one of their best.

Thought the first two tracks were great, then I lost interest on the two occasions I have listened to the full album so far.   Maybe it will grow on me.

I agree,  I thought it started off really strong and then faded away for me, might need another couple of listens though.

I've had it on all week, it's brilliant. Only track I've no time for is Det oerhörda sounds a bit Euro Metal but there's not a dud track to be had over the rest of it.

I actually like that track its a good solid album from start to finish, dark distortion, interstellar death and phantom gospel are great tracks.
Ordered the limited edition lp for good measure  :abbath:

Yes this one is pure shite, instantly going for the skip button with it. Pretty decent record outside of this stinker.

Listening to this now, it's much better than I expected - they were always more miss than hit and the reformation era material has been poor to date - and despite the obvious limitation of working with Lindberg's worsening health and diminished ability, it sounds massive.

I don't mind Det Oerhörda, it sounds nice and dramatic to me. The dip for me is In Dark Distortion, it has a whiff of metalcore off it but apart from that one - so far, so good.
