I used to buy Metal Hammer in the 90s and was fed all these terrible bands. I thought, at some point, maybe I just don't like metal any more. Then I started to take a few risks on more underground stuff and never looked back. Insane to think that all of these bands are still active and have a following.

They have a knack for writing catchy songs, every album has 3 bangers on it.

If you can't enjoy the Newport Helicopter, you're missing out

Same as. I actually bought that Orgy album, prob still have it somewhere (away from the music collection, all my terrible 90s and early 00s purchases were banished to the attic a long time ago!). Nostalgia is a powerful thing and I'd imagine thats the main driver behind the popularity of this stuff. I can't really fathom that anyone would genuinely feel passionate about any of these bands but who knows...

Another band to file under "coworker metal".

Think it's only Alien Ant Farm supporting on the Irish dates. Not sure if that's better or worse.

I would like to see Alien Ant Farm and Spineshank... never listened to Skindred, though. Not sure if I can be arsed to try getting into them.

I quite enjoyed Dub War back in the day. But when they split and yer man came back fronting Skindred, I had no interest in Skindred.
