Been a while since this was any way relevant, and I know some places are now defunct, but what are the sites people use to send albums off for review?
I feel like they've been replaced by pay-to-play sites like SubmitHub and Fluence. Basically, pay to get a short review and maybe added to a playlist. You kind of browse the reviewers and select which ones you think would be most relevant to your music. It's sadly a very different world from the glory days of 2000s blogging.
I gave up on those sites when they started giving everything 5/5
Ya, that side of things has changed/died down from what I can tell.
Angry Metal Guy is my go to the past few years. Toilet of Hell and Invisible Oranages were checked for a while but they were crap in comparison.
Check out some releases from Transcending Obscurity on bandcamp as they include blurbs from all the review websites they use, so you'll surely get a good few leads there.
Ever find yourself just skipping to that last paragraph on AMG reviews? R.I.P attention span
AMG and Nocleansinging.
I find myself skipping to the last paragraph in the AMG reviews all the time.
Apparently that's whey they moved the score from the top to the bottom to try and get people to read the whole review.
Grand job, thanks lads
AMG, NCS and occasionally Last Rites for me. And of course this very forum, I'm always discovering bands on here.
AMG, Hate Meditations and Mystification zine for myself.
