A fairly filthy weekend, unbelievable surprise to see Phrenelith play Cork!.FB_IMG_1771279642164.jpg
Ah fuck me, used to work on South Mall! Clearly don't anymore
Phrenilith are the business. Coscradh too :abbath:
May do the Cork date of this rather than Dublin. Have to go to the UK next day and flights from there seem doable
Anywhere reccomendations for place to stay in Cork that aren't a shared hostel dorm and doesnt cost an arm and a leg? Im an old man and I require a decent sleep

There's a Premier Inn after opening within handy distance of Fredz (though in Cork, everywhere is handy distance). Not too sure of pricing at all to be honest but I've heard it's not too bad.
Flying from Cork will be a dream, if you haven't had the pleasure of doing that before!

Premier Inn might be a good shout, literally around the corner from Freds - handy for the bus to take you to the airport too. A taxi wouldn't be too dear either.
There's a stack of B&Bs on the Western Road by UCC too. Again, handy enough to get to the airport from there.
With a Premier Inn you know what you're gonna get and to be fair most of those B&Bs look alright but I've never stayed in one.
As Yung mentioned - Cork airport is, usually, a dream to get through. I can do it from my front gate to parking the car to being through security in about 20mins (and I don't live next to the airport or anything).
In the front door, up the escalator, 10 minutes at an absolute max through security, and you're at the gates :abbath:
Really looking forward to this!, Freds perfect for it!
Who are Omnicidal Vow? Cool name.

I think I prefer the earlier time in Dublin. Must be getting old. :eyeroll:
Not sure if I'm going to make this one, yet. Fingers crossed. 🤞
There's a 10 minute difference in the finish time, unless midnight has extra significance for ya Cinders? ;D
We're starting at 5pm in the Olde Reliable if that earlier time suits ya better? Hopefully see ya later boss

Yeah! Spotted that after.
Saw the earlier start and just assumed it was finishing earlier.
Reminds me of last time I was in there for Bodydrinkers, someone else had shoe issues in there... I have a feeling someone could be leaving a limb after them tonight, the place should be mental :abbath: If the floor withstands this line-up then Fredz will never actually fall down.
Was a class gig!,Coscradh were very good! but were dogged with issues with the mike/vocals!.
Phrenelith really are the business, the kind of DM I love!.Ploughed throw the set, no messing.
That was class. More of the same again please!
Make sure ye catch the Dublin gig tonight :abbath:
If your in the market for a Phrenelith shirt tonight in Dubliin. They only have concentration camp size or morbid obese sizes. If your in between the two your out of luck!
New Coscradh songs are the best since the first EP. Catchy as fuck death/black metal.
I realise it's a "beggars cant be choosers" situation in terms of metal friendly venues at this stage, but jesus. the Wild Duck is desperate. You'd think with the price they charge for pints they could maybe put some money into a decent PA. Only saw two bands (Larvae and Phrenelith), the tiredness overtook me before Coscradh unfortunately, but the sound was muddy as fuck.
Freds in Cork the same, a fuckin shit venue and shit sound!.Cork desperately needs a half decent 100 or so capacity venue!
I'd say for this type of music you have to really be on top of your game sound wise.
It's so full on there is zero room for mistakes.
I love the Phrenelith sound but is say it's hard to mix as it's so dense.
The sound in Fred's is always poor enough but on top of that the tech issues with mics constantly failing fir Coscradh was poor.
Didn't harm them too much to be fair, all three bands in Cork did a good job and Coscradh and Phrenelith in particular were excellent. Pure intensity from the Coscradh lads blew through any issues entirely.
Thats twice I've seen Coscradh now, please Christ let the third time be in a different venue.
Coscradh were an absolute force. Omnicidal Vow were class as well.
