Enjoyed the show last year, they played Into the Lungs of Hell, 502, Mary Jane & In My Darkest hour from SFSGSW - just great to hear Young play those solos. I do rate his work on that album - he lent a George Lynch quality to the material and has the unfortunate timing of being sandwiched in between Megadeth's 2 best lead players.
I'd need to know the "theme" of these gigs before shelling out again, they've been doing some shows in the states with Chris Poland which would be absolutely unreal.
They've started writing their own material. Red flag!

The support has since been announced XIII Doors and Wicked seemingly have the wads.
Had this one on the long finger but quite simply supporting that sort of practice brings out the cynic I'm afraid.

There was a band called Paranoid or Paranoia that supported someone (Korn/Fear Factory/Paradise Lost?) in the SFX in the '90s, fuck me they must have paid a fortune, they were awful.

Utter shit. Almost as bad as Swampshack. Body Count in 94, I think it was, UK and Europe had Carcass supporting, Ireland got Swampshack. And everyone hated them, I remember the bass player challenging a bunch of hecklers to a fight. Last I heard of them they were playing in a pub in Monaghan underneath Thorn's flat. Poor bastard.
Some other bunch, could have been Paranoia, supporting Anthrax, and when their set ended, silence. The drummer threw his sticks into the crowd, and everyone could hear them hit the ground, and bounce all the way down the back, nobody even bothering to pick them up.
And a bit later Sweet Savage seemed to get so many support slots. Heaven and Hell pull out of Maiden, considering the ticket price for the two bands, does MCD replace then with a band of similar stature? Nah, call in Sweet Savage, and pocket the money Dio and Co would have made.
Sweet Savage, Superskin, Swamp Shack. Guess it's a pretty good guide if your band is named S___S___, you're going to be shit, right?
I'd be delighted with Sweet Savage, give me them over Heaven And Hell any day of the week.

Tour started naturally they are not actually playing the first 3 albums in full as seemingly advertised...lazy bazzas :laugh:
Looks like they do SFSG, just 1 from the first album and about half Peace Sells with a handful drawn from elsewhere including a Maiden cover.

I wasn't at the Anthrax show but I had the misfortune of playing on the same line up as these bell ends. I remember them being absolute cunts when approached with friendly banter pre gig and then having a few of them come up to after we played and one of them saying "we would have been nice to you if we had known your band was this good!" Up there with the most spasticated statements I've heard from local bands, or any bands for that matter, and that's saying something. And we weren't that good either, the lads just hadn't experienced anything outside of their gigsmart/ Dublin nu metal bubble.

Yep, had an identical experience with them. Didn't want to talk to us until there was an issue with the bassists equipment.

Guaranteed half of them are in wedding bands and the other half are up in Ballyfermot cranking out hipster bands for Universal to sign nowadays.
One of them definitely in the tribute circuit think one of the Grunge tributes.
Setlist is looking sweet, better than the last show here, i think I'll go again - worth it to hear those early hits. If only they would tour with Chris Poland - it's a shame he's only done a few US shows with them.
Limerick was fun last night - not a huge crowd (upstairs closed off) but downstairs reasonably full. Did see either support act, but Ellefson and co were great. They played the full SFSGSW album - great to hear some of the deeper cuts from it like Liar, 502 etc. Pity Young's guitar was a bit low/muffled but he played great - even did a damn fine job playing Marty's Tornado of Souls solo. Black Friday was great to hear, and i think only Rattlehead off the 1st album, but still - overall it was much better than I thought it might have been. A buddy of mine was there - he's not a megadeth fan - he thought it was fantastic... seems Megadeth music is much easier to enjoy when Mustaine is not there :) Highly recommended!
Gig was great.
The first band were very good; NY 80s glam.
The next band had a few nice moments, but were like a bad Soundgarden in parts.
KOT were great! Really enjoyed it. Liar & 502, Mary Jane, great to hear; Into The Lungs Of Hell\Set The World Afire was brilliant.

Belfast was fantastic. The crowd was surprisingly large – I figured it would be pathetically small.
There were points where Chaz was obstructed from my sight by a pillar and you'd swear he was a young Mustaine.
I didn't realise they were going to play the third album in its entirety. Hearing Anarchy in the UK was a treat. Megadeth never seems to play it, either because it's not in their setlist in general or they're worried about a repeat of the 80s incident in Antrim.
Chaz certainly didn't give a fuck ("Belfast knows about anarchy, right?!"). The crowd also seemed to love the song and it was funny seeing Americans name check a bunch of our paramilitaries.
Jeff Young was fantastic on the lead guitar. I did wonder if they had their own lighting guy on tour because the lights seemed very coordinated with the music. Apparently they didn't because Jeff called them out not long into the set. "What's with the darkness and strobes up here? These songs have a million notes – I need to see!"
I'm seeing Megadeth next year in Belfast, but this gig will likely sound more Megadeth than Megadeth.

They definitely didn't have any of their own crew on the tour. I worked one of the shows. That was the in house lampie.
Jeff is a real left field oddball. I won't go into specifics but he isn't the easiest fella to work with. Someone here said they couldn't hear his guitar well at times. He alternated between accidentally turning himself off on his pedal board and being louder than god when he turned back on. I was told this was normal at the shows.
