Title: Hecate Enthroned - The Corpse Of A Titan, A Lament Long Buried
Post by: Pagan Saviour on February 05, 2026, 01:53:04 PM
These lads back with a new record - always had a soft spot for them.

Enjoyed the new track too - sounds like something I'd have been mad about as a teenager.

At some point in Ireland around the 90s it seemed like everyone had a HE longsleeve!

Am I imagining that?😅

Nah. The brutal death metal vocals kill off any potential and the squeaky clean, modern and faceless production was never likely to excite either.

Was that the show in May of 2007 with Cephalic Carnage? The first half of 2007 has to have been the best run of gigs this country has ever seen finishing up with Dying Fetus and Skinless a few days after the Akercocke gig.

I was doing my first year exams and there were 6 killer gigs on in May. I went to Immolation & Dawn of Azazel, The Haunted and Municipal Waste, and another I can't remember.

I went to these shows could have been other stuff on as well

January - Deicide (I think this was the shite show were Glen wasn't on tour and random people from the crowd sang. If it was Killswitch engage played the same night in the Ambassador because I remember Jack Owen taking the piss out of the KSE vocals on stage) Also the last time Deicide played in Ireland.
Feb - Brutal Truth (I think Total Fucking Destruction supported?)
The real Decapitated (Viteks last ever show in Ireland)
March - Necrophagist w/ Misery Index,
Rotting Christ w/ Incantation, Malevolent Creation and Rotten Sound
Vital Remains show (With Damien Boynton on vocals),
April - Amon Amarth w/ Finntroll, (The last time I listened to and went to see either of these bands live)
        Hatebreed
May - Negura Bunget
Unleashed w/ Belphegor & Arkhon Infaustus ( I don't remember AK being there),
Immolation w/ Krisiun, Grave and DOA
Then the two shows I mentioned in my last post.

Unbelievable looking back at that now and even at the time it was great. Shame those days seem to be long gone.
