I was randomly googling 'Dublin Doom Day' to try to remember who was on some of the older line-ups, and was happy to see it looks like there's a new edition coming in March. I assume it's Mark Leigh still involved with running it? Fair dues! Nice poster too.

Is there legit promotion for this anywhere? Classic stuff.

Haven't thought about Argus in an eternity, was a big fan of those first three albums.

I've never heard anyone other than Irish heads even mention them. Hard to find any discussion/interest in them online.  Beyond the Martyrs is the only one I have by them, cool album.

So did anyone go to this? How was it? Not much of a buzz about it.

Was a great night. The audio engineer they had wasn't great, the bass drums sounded like shit and he kept turning up and down the guitars, couldn't hear the solos half the time for all of the bands. Other than falling 15 minutes behind which isn't too bad considering a 5 band bill, ran smooth from what I saw.

Argus were absolutely exceptional and was well impressed by Marche Fumebre. Old Season played a new track which sounded deadly as well, probably the best form I've seen from them in a long long time.

Great night all round. Every band played a good set. Marche Funebre were class

I'd second the comments on that sound engineer. Sounded like he'd never listened to much metal and just didn't know what it was supposed to sound like. Constantly turning stuff up and down and generally making a mess of things

Far cry from Dublin Doom Day in (I think) 2010 that had the first Hour of 13 gig. MI at the time was buzzing in anticipation and the day itself didn't disappoint. I've often said to many, including Mark the promoter, that it was the best gig I was ever at. The pre printed "i was there" t shirts confirmed that we knew something special was on the cards. Such a pity that this reprise gig has generated seemingly no interest or comments in comparison. Was it well attended? Maybe people are talking about it on tiktok or FB or whatever the current shrine of vanity is in vogue now...

That Hour of 13 gig was a real event at the time. Who else played that year? Esoteric, Pagan Altar... I'm probably getting confused.

There was a decent crowd at it. Sound was a mixed bag as said but the bands all had a good showing, with Argus the band of the night for me.

I think Esoteric was the first year, in 2009. Mourning Beloveth and Griftegrad were on that 2010 bill, few others I can't remember.

Did Candlemass play one year or was that Day Of Darkness?

Day of Darkness. Rob Lowe singing with all the lyrics strewn across the stage. Couldn't see them through the haze.

Griftegard and MB! Nice line-up  8)
Griftegard are a band I've liked on CD, but live they were something else. It was so heavy, so slow and so musically sparse. Pure evil power.
