Seems like there are a ton of live radio broadcast albums now on the market. Priest, Motörhead, Maiden etc. without the official logos. Not sure how these albums are now so readily available. Bootlegs on O'Connell Bridge back in the day but now vinyls online, Tower etc. I tend to avoid them expecting shite sound. Anyone pick up a few or able to recommend ones that don't sound like they were recorded in the jax
Most of them a complete waste of money, I've one Slayer one that's ok because it was taken from a radio broadcast of their Donnington 92 performance. Can't think of the name of it though.
I picked up a live album by The Clash in Aldi (!!!!) a while back. Unlistenable dogshit.

For a moment I thought "where would you even set up to play a gig in Aldi?"
Sorry it's been a long day and I'm tired

I have that on cd, aural assault its called, totally unlistenable to.
Scobes had some brilliant looking box sets for sale from Flying Dragon Records. Mercyful fate/Priest/Ozzy/Slayer. In terms of packaging and presentation they look incredible, better than any official release I've seen by any of those bands. But yeah i'd be wary of the actual audio quality of them, too pricy to take a gamble on. I think a lot of the modern boots are just YouTube rips anyway. I don't really care about official pro recorded live releases anyway so couldn't be arsed powering through something that sounds like shite.
Judas was your only man for shite quality live recordings. 4 pounds for a cassette outside sound cellar or central bank for a 90 minute cassette recording of Cannibal Corpse, Nile or whatever. Basically white noise interspersed with lads yapping at the bar. Great times.
They are easy enough to find to download and listen (and probably in better quality) on the net, no? The price they charge for content they stole is kind of mind boggling.
