Title: Medulla Nocte Return and Appreciation
Post by: Pagan Saviour on November 20, 2025, 07:46:52 PM
Underrated Gem of a band, They've announced one date performing all of A Conversation Alone.

Don't know who's in the returning lineup except Paul. Wouldn't mind catching them if at all possible either way.

Lucky to have seen them many times. Favourite was Slattery's - it was lawless

They are playing in  Nottingham in March with Stampin Ground.

Dying From The Inside is a savage album as well.
I love Paul Catten's vocals on the Murder One album.

Didn't realise there was a bit of love around here for them, I have one of their albums, the one with the wanking intro to one of the songs which I seem to remember provided a very awkward moment once with the mother dropping socks up to the room. Saw them with someone years ago, Cradle maybe?

Supported Entombed here, Then The Haunted. Rest of their gigs were headliners

Paul Catten also has/had a doom band called black star or something like that.
He seems to get involved in loads of different bits and pieces.
I heard him on a podcast and he was very down to earth but a bit mad.

Yeah I was at both those Gigs, Entombed was early 99 and The Haunted was late 2000.

They played the The Phoenix in Cork somewhere between those two gig.

He has been in so many bands since the MD days (and before), Stampin' Ground, Lazarus Blackstar, Murder One, Barrabus,The Sontaran Experiment, Stuntcock, Thicko and currently touring as Dead Sheeran.

I think the last time Paul did anything Medulla Nocte was "A Man Called Catten" back in 2011, which I missed.

Never thought I'd get a chance to see MD live (whatever this line up is), facebook post says "We will be around, maybe not playing every small town and city every week like we used to, but we will appear on the right night. England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland we will be there"

Quotepre orders for A Conversation Alone on vinyl/CD should be up within the next week. All remixed/remastered, and new packaging
