Good one to start off the year. And a Saturday too!

Nice one. Have an exam that day as well so a few pinteens in town will be needed!
I'd be tempted for the supports but can't stand Primordial, so I'll skip it. Trying to get out of Galway on a Saturday night is a nightmare too.

Fan i do leaba ansin so, maith fhear.
Class to see somthing like this in Galway. Hopefully its the start of more things to come. There hasn't been anything like this in a long long long time. Fair play to Gugai (and Tebs).
Hopefully get tickets tomorrow, the new year is lining up pretty well for gigs down here in the wesht. Saturday night aswell so really handy.
This should sell out fast , what's capacity there , would have thought about 250?

In and around that.
It'll be interesting to see what other gigs get added on the Friday & Sunday too.
I'd imagine Sally's and/or the '55 will have one or two, maybe the Cellar. Great to see something like this in Galway.
I'd imagine it'll all be in the Roisin dubh, it looks to be ran by strange brew promotions according to the website and that's Gugai who books for the Roisin dubhs company.
Nice to see something cool happening out west. Hopefully I'll get up to some of it.
Ah right, didn't realise Strange Brew were behind the whole thing.
Great idea. I hope this grows legs.
Grabbed one there, happy days.
Ticket bought, great to see more stuff happening in the west and also nice to have a change of scenery from Dolans!
Absolutely. Not many venues much bigger than Roisin, Black Box etc but would be great to see a few more decent sized bands in Galway.
Grabbed a ticket for this, intrigued to see primordial in a small venue. Nice to see some stuff happening out here for the first time in a while!
More added to website

Playing this with Shardborne on the Friday. Lineup is great! Happy to see something cool happen in Galway and at that time of year its nice to have something to look forward to.
Anyone have any details on the merch fair before this? Is it just merch of the bands playing or will there be a few distro stalls with vinyls etc?
The Blue Note have been doing these merch fairs for a few smaller/local weekenders (ie. Going Coastal) the past year or two. Usually it's a DIY, local affair where bands playing will set up their own merch stalls. It's probably the same craic again for this, but there'll be the likes of Blowtorch Records there and they'll sell vinyl from whoever is on their roster for example (they represent two or three of the bands on this bill). That's my guess going on similar past events. Will be worth the look anyway for sure.
Okus had to pull their gig which is a shame, was looking forward to a bit crustiness upstairs in the small room after Primordial.

Cheers for the info, few of us gonna head in early and check it out anyway!
Ya shame about okus but ill be mouldy at that stage so as long as theres riffs im happy
Anyone know anything about the replacement band, clan torque, maybe im being thick but cant find anything about em online
Got a spare ticket for Primordial on Saturday if anyone is looking dm me

Doors advertised for 7pm, so knowing the Róisín, Genuflection will probably start at 7:30 sharp. Primordial probably sometime after 9pm. They'll want an hour for change over to the two bands on the midnight slot.
I see there's the weekly drag night on upstairs, will be a fairly gas sight to see those two crowds mingle in the smoking area.
Safe to land in around 9 i reckon so. Can always pop upstairs so if Primordial aren't up to scratch!

If the organisers were truly on the ball they'd stick on a DJ playing exclusively hair metal up there.
Got an email with stage times
19:15 Genuflection
20:00 Death The Leveller
20:45 Primordial
Death the Leveller: Temu Matt Berry

Great to see the Róisín rammed for a metal gig. I got word that it'll be a yearly thing from chatting to the guy who runs the place. Primordial were fairly class as usual, cool to see them in such a small club setting. Alan Averil was some dose though in between songs. Had to tune it out to enjoy the set
[double post]
Well that was fucking great. Missed Death The Leveller due to pints but Primordial were excellent. Hadn't seen them in a venue that small in a long long time.
Really enjoyed the gig. Had an exam in the morning so couldn't get to any of the other gigs but seems a great success. Really nice to see so many packed into the Roisin.
Ya that was deadly. First time seeing primordial and enjoyed it alot. Death the leveller had great vocals too!
Wasn't at the gig but looking at the clips this morning, two sub guitarists was it?
Was a decent gig and cool to see primordial in more intimate environment.
Toilet were a chore to get to though
Mighty craic was had at this, pints were mayve a bit too free flowing
Great to have something like this in Galway and looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this setup :abbath:

Ah stop, I was fairly far gone during primordials set. Shouting god knows what at them between songs
Same as, really hoping this is the beginning of a few more metal shows out here. Sick of travelling across the country for gigs!

The big blonde haired guitarist wasn't able to make AA said on stage.... Is the other guitarist who had the hood up a new guy??
Hooded guy is Ger from Death The Leveller, he's filled in before

100%. Im not gonna deny it
In fairness Averill was well on it too as the show went on. Craic was had🤘
Had a great time on Friday. Sallys was hopping and there was a great buzz in the Roisin aswell. Was only around for the night but looks like the rest of the weekend went well also.Great to see Galway doing well and hope to catch it again next year.
A few of the gang went to the all ages the Sunday and said it was good craic too.
Bring on next year!
