Barney & co on the almost annual trip over here next year.
One more support to be announced
Whiplash, deadly!
Ah Jaysus lads Whiplash are shite.
Don't think I'd be arsed with Napalm again so soon, as you say the yearly visit
Thats a fairly poor lineup it has to be said compared to previous years
Anyone going? There's been zero buzz about this one.

Saw a few UK dates had discounted/free tickets going. Guess it's a combination of this package not being nearly as exciting as previous iterations and just a bit of oversaturation with touring the last few years.
Zero interest in Whiplash or Varukers, and Barney's vocals are so bad these days that I wouldn't cross the road to see Napalm. Pity.

Had a look at that - the Glasgow date downgraded to a smaller venue.
I would say it's mostly down to the line-up last time it was Crowbar and Full of Hell which is a bit something for everyone. I've genuinely never heard of either support band playing the current show. Plus people will take ND playing here for granted, sure if I miss them this time they are going to back again soon.
It's been very quiet in general on here in 2026 for gigs. That Revocation band that many on here seem to love played last Sunday and Frozen Soul played last night with some of the better known mainstream DM bands. I don't think either gig even had a thread on here. Crowbar sold out 3 shows here 2 weeks ago we had what maybe 2 or 3 posts in total after the shows were over.

I go to a lot of gigs in Dublin, for whatever reason this year, all the bands coming this Spring, I have no interest in. First time I can remember a situation like that. In March 2025 I had about 5 gigs to go to. I'm chalking it down as an aberration, hoping for a good slate in the Autumn
Yeah metal wise it's been grim - lot of stuff on but it's either the same stuff or stuff I'm not into. I don't need to see Crowbar or Paradise Lost etc ever again.

Same - Voivod and Midnight is the only thing that is really exciting me so far this year.
I don't have a single ticket for any future gigs, metal or otherwise, but that's more of a financial reason. I'd have liked to have seen Whisplash though, have they played Ireland before? I think they were meant to play in 2011 but it was cancelled

Looked like there was a decent turnout for Black Dahlia/Revoc

Younger crowd for those gigs who probably haven't a clue of this forum, looked like a good turnout too.

Finances can be a thing too. Do I want to fork out 100 euro to see half the Deftones when I've seen them many times at the peak of their powers for far less?? I'm much more selective in that respect these days - much prefer to see something new rather than the same olds with the usual setlists.
As for Whiplash I've vague recollections of them being on the bill at an all dayer somewhere but believe this will be their first show here.
Checked out the setlist a few tracks I either haven't heard in a long time or never heard live before. Looking forward to this. Personally I can't wait for the FOH / Jarhead show in April along with finally getting to see Internal Bleeding who have never played here before.
At least someone comes here ..could be worse always!! Going up now..Whiplash is good some remind me of old Overkill ...and the odd slayer buzz...so yeah let's go :abbath: :abbath: :abbath:
Was sent a clip from last night. Barney still sounds on point.
Yeah I was talking to someone who went - Said Napalm were brilliant but the supports were all terrible. About 300 or so at it he reckoned, upstairs was cordoned off.
Having seen Napalm in the Academy which was great and then about a month later with the same set in a poorly attended 3 arena show I think I'll hold off on this one ha ha

Was that not 3 or 4 years ago, supporting Volbeat or someone?
Yeah they played Academy July 2022 then were here with Volbeat that December.
The main floor was fairly full last night which holds 650 so I would say it was more like 450 - 550 at the show maybe even 600.
Barney mentioned the attendance at the end of the show last night.
The band were great last night even though Barney was wearing suspenders  . I wonder what's up with Shane.
One thing Napalm need to do is drop the covers and the recent songs like Contagion, Smash a single digit that they play every time and instead play more of the earlier stuff. I'll never understand why a band with 16 albums still feels they need to do cover songs.

That was down to the shitty band headlining not Napalm and they had already played Limerick, Dublin and Belfast the 4 months before that with all 3 shows being sold out.
Quote450 - 550 at the show maybe even 600.
Definitely not. The pic I seen the floor was by no means full.
Was a lot more then 300 trust me I was at the show.

Yep, the clip I was sent the downstairs looked well full...
I'll ask the promotor. 350-400
Max. Sure I heard the merch was in the room, taking up that entire lower left side.
Merch was there because other shows were on in the other rooms and one of those bands had already taken the merch booth down by the stairs. That spot wouldn't hold that many anyway maybe about 30 people. I left before the last song it was pushing and shoving right up to the door were the stairs are.
My friend said downstairs was jammed. Yeah, the merch stall might have taken up a bit of room alright, but deffo sounds and looks like well over 500 at it.
Downstairs holds 650 and upstairs 200, isn't it?
Not gonna lie, absolutely skipped this because of the line up, as many have said, I love Napalm and understand the economics of touring, but funds are tight and I really cannot afford to splash out freely on gigs anymore. If anything nowadays I'd rather save money and hit a tour on the mainland or UK that has a stronger lineup than one band I like and two shit supports for 50 quid in a venue with 9 euro pints.
I've seen Napalm before, I'll see them again you can be sure, but them and two bands who were fairly mediocre even at their peak on a Wednesday night was pretty far from being value for money right now.
Also you'll be lucky to see Embury on tour with them again I'd imagine.

Yep 850 in total with room for 200 upstairs.

I didn't go to this for similar reasons to yourself. Had only driven up to Dublin the day before for something else and not a chance in hell I was in humour of the same the next day too.

He took a break for mental health reasons, not for the first time either. Given how long he's been on the road with Napalm and the hundred other bands he's played with, it's not surprising that he needs time away from it all. He's seen a few bandmates die recently too, that's got to take a toll. Young kid too, bitta family time is probably no harm.
Shame to hear that. He's a likeable auld fecker. Hopefully he gets sorted for the better.
I've seen him selling records from his own collection on Facebook, nothing too rare but even so, he might be feeling the pinch if he's at that. A shame if so, considering all he's contributed over the years.
