Guitar slowlos? In any case, solos whose most prominent, characteristic elements are slow rather than shredding.
So far, only one of the ones that's come to mind is metal, but I'm putting the other three anyway, as examples of the kind of non fret-sparking solo I mean. I'm sure ye'll have plenty more metal ones to add:

Edit: I've been listening to the new Malthusian while typing this post, and the solo on this pretty much fits the bill too, as it happens:

For me this is up there with the best, 2.00 and 4.05
..
The second solo in Comfortably Numb comes to mind, but guitar solos are for wankers anyway...

That's the first one that came to mind. I much prefer those type solos to shredding.
Greg Mackintosh - Forever Failure
Jerry Cantrell - Whale And Wasp
Moby "Face It", instantly in this category anyway.
Whole song is lethal but solo is from 4:20 and lasts forever lol
Inter Arma "The Paradise Gallows" is also a fuckin ridiculously good song with a lovely slowly from 6:37
Rakes more I will think of later
It's not really a solo but the lead section in Alice in Chains Junkhead - they do so much with so few notes and restraint.

Jar of Flies/ Sap is deadly but Whale and Wasp is a cunt of a song, the main reason being that fucking gimpy solo
Thinking on a minute Orion, hands down winner.
Beyond Comfortably Numb, there must be at least a dozen Gilmour solos that would have their place here :abbath:
Have to say, that Paradise Lost solo doesn't excite me at all, I'd almost call it pedestrian :-X But then again, they're a band that never really appealed to me much, for whatever reason.
ZZ Top reminded me of this one:

Bathory: Call From The Grave definitely springs to mind.

Never thought it was gimpy at all. Swing On This was the only low point on Jar Of Flies. It's an otherwise flawless release. Lots of Cantrell examples could be applied to this thread too.

Anathema - One Last Goodbye 4.00
Powerslave - Dave Murray

Beat me to it with Moby but it's the first one that comes to mind here. There's definitely rakes of these yeah some great stuff in the thread already

Tasty! Off Judgement, I see. I'm not really familiar with anything past Eternity tbh.

Yup, amazing solo. Have you listened to Falling Deeper, the sorta remix album? The leads on that are like the one above played by Dave Gilmour. Never understood the phrase, he can make the guitar sing, til I heard this album.
Good call on Judgement era Anathema
Also worth a mention is Woody Weatherman on Goodbye Windows
Dunno if it counts as 'solo' as much just a riff because it's a repeated motif over a long time, but it is a lead, and it's stuck with me, when it slows down at kicks in right at 4:40. Hook that shit to my veins.
"Confusion" by Alice in Chains
Solo in "Gemini" by Slayer. It's slow by their standards and really intriguing.
Priest - Touch Of Evil

I'm the opposite, I not as familiar with anything before Judgement

I think I have it somewhere in my collection, must revisit it!
I'm going to have to lower the tone and mention Zakk Wylde's lead in Bridge To Cross. That guitar is weeping.
First thing I thought of, at 4:37

Judas Priest - Run of the mill 3.44
I watched a video of AIC playing Would? with James Hetfield singing. The solo in that song is perfect. Slow, dark and moody as hell.
Estranged/Coma and some other Guns N' Roses solos instantly came to mind. But 2 that haven't been mentioned that always stuck out in my head when listening to these songs many moons ago ->
2:51 ->
2:13 ->
A couple of people rightly mentioned Comfortably Numb - Lovelorn Crime could be considered Opeth's Comfortably Numb...
Another Opeth one while I'm at it, from their incredible latest album, A Story Never Told is kind of in the same vein as the one above...
Mastodon's Gigantium is a slow song. Not sure if that makes Brent Hinds' cracker at the end a
slow solo, but I'll include it here just in case...
Like Suicide from Superunknown...
Four bangers there, although I'm so used to the Swedish version of In Cauda Venenum, I got confused when he started singing in English
This springs to mind. "Chills" as they say

Don't get me started on that English/Swedish version thing. I'm a Lovelorn Crime guy all the way, while 100% in the Allting Tar Slut camp if you catch my drift.
WASP - The Idol 3.17 and 5.18
Devin Townsend - Deep Peace
Solo kicks in about 2:50

The very best ever and I didn't post it meself because I thought it might have been too fast
The slow solo from 0:28 before the song properly kicks in is savage.
All this guitar solo indulgence suddenly made me want to listen to this for the first time in years:

The best comment I've ever seen about this solo is that Steve Vai's fingers had to be pixilated on videos of it in Japan.

I remember reading an interview years ago where he said he wrote this for Prince and even got as far as performing it in Paisley Park Studios (not with Prince himself playing, just his band), but then it didn't get used by him in the end.
The opening solo in Dying For Love by Black Sabbath is so good. Slow, bluesy, sexy and evocative.

When I think of slow solos I think of a young Danny Kavanagh with a Les Paul. This one in particular is so bleak and forlorn but has a little bit of hope to it, which just makes it more miserable.

Either of the guitar solos on the Live and Dangerous version of Still in Love With You, just magic. First one starts at about 2:40, the second at about 5:20.

God ya, that's a beaut. I mentioned earlier in the thread his lead playing on the Falling Deeper is just magnificent. Probably tied with Comfortably Numb for most suited to this thread.
